5punk Game of the year awards.
Right, as discussed in the 5punkers of the Year award.
Have some categories.
Games you vote for must have been released in 2007 as new or standalone games.
Most are pretty obvious.
Best FPS.
Best RTS.
Best MMO/RPG.
Best Single player.
Best Multi Player.
Most 5punky Game.
Basically, the game that seemed most 5punky to you, whether it was good, bad, completely mental or cake obsessed, vote for it here.
5punk Game of the Year.
Whatever you think was the best game released this year.

Re: 5punk Game of the year awards.
Hmmmm, this could be hard, especially due to my lack of gaming this year and lack of TEEF
Best FPS.
COD
Best RTS.
Age of Empires: The Asian Dynasties - The only new one I believe I have played, or was C&C3 out this year? anyway I didn't like Soup
EDIT, Company of Heroes - Opposing Fronts
Best MMO/RPG.
BACON! or COD, I believe it can be classed as RPG, due to the rankings :D
Best Single player.
Portal
Best Multi Player.
COD
Most 5punky Game.
Portal for SP TEEF for MP
5punk Game of the Year.
I think TEEF, but I havn't played much of it. Or Could be COD!

Nicely done Berk.
Best FPS.
I think COD has to get this one for me. OK, the single player was short, but it was still damn good, and the multiplayer is simply ace.
Best RTS.
I've not actually played any this year, and as much as I'd like to, I just don't seem to get on with them any more.
Best MMO/RPG.
Difficult one this really. I haven't played any MMONGS, and increasingly some FPS games are trying to cross the line into RPG territory. However, given the limited amount I've played it so far, I'm going to vote for Zelda: Twilight Princess on the Wii. I'm really enjoying it, the controls are nice and simple, and it just feels right.
Best Single player.
Has to be Portal. No question. Yes, it's short, but has any other game ever had such a quick impact? Bioshock was good, Stalker failed to live up to the hype, and Ep2 was more of the same (which is good, but not ground-breaking).
Best Multi Player.
For me this is COD again. I know it's a late-comer to the party, but it's grabbed me and a number of other 5punkers by the dangly bits and still not let go.
Most 5punky Game.
I'm going to vote for Teef here. I know it has fallen into COD's shadow of late, but I believe that they will come out even once the hype dies down, and Teef will be to COD what CS:S was to BEEF. The graphics, gameplay and overall feel of the game is as close to 5punk in game format as I can imagine.
5punk Game of the Year.
This one I'm not so sure about. I'm kind of torn between COD and Portal, but given that it's the first single-player game I've completed numerous times (and still intend to play numerous more times), it's going to be Portal.

Best FPS.
Cod 4
Best RTS.
None played
Best MMO/RPG.
Zelda:TP
Best Single player.
Portal
Best Multi Player.
Cod 4
Most 5punky Game.
Teef, has to be, not only is it great fun, it's fairly silly and helped revive 5punk after the game drought this year.
5punk Game of the Year.
Very difficult, but cod gets it by a nose. I very nearly wrote portal there, but cod seems to have more long term potential, which is better. IMO.

Best FPS: Half Life Episode 2. Also rans were Bioshock and Portal, but I'm putting Portal elsewhere.
Best RTS: SOUP. No contest - it's the only RTS I've played this year and the only one I've enjoyed since TA.
Best MMO/RPG: <strike>I don't think I've played either this year. At least none that've been released this year.</strike> Pokemon Diamond on the DS. It's rather good.
Best Single Player: Portal. Really grabbed my imagination.
Best Multi Player: COD4. Regularly gets 20+ 5punkers playing, and it's bloody good fun.
Most 5punky Game: I'll come back to this. All the games I'm thinking of were from other years.
5punk Game of the Year: I'm going to go out on a limb and say TEEF. I haven't played it much, and don't even like it that much, but it's brought us some lovely people and so for that I am nominating it.
EDITed for remembering non-PC games.

Re: 5punk Game of the year awards.
Best FPS. - Portal
Best RTS. - Not played any (actually, does Fallout count?)
Best MMO/RPG. - Eve, I passed my 3rd Eve birthday this October (Joose, I still hold you responsible for this!) and my interest had been dwindling over the past year or so but it has managed to haul me back in again
Best Single player. - Portal
Best Multi Player. - TEEF, because I haven't played enough COD and I don't quite *own* a copy yet
Most 5punky Game. - Portal

Re: 5punk Game of the year awards.
Best FPS.
COD 4 - Although I really enjoyed Bioshock, probably more than most, I can't honestly argue with anyone's criticisms of it, it's just that the good bits were really good. COD4 Single Player was just fantastic, I was surprised to find I enjoyed it more than Ep2. Portal could also have gone here but it got best SP down there so I give this to COD4
Best RTS.
Soupy Stompy Robots - Never been a huge fan of RTS, although I usually enjoy playing them I never love them. Until Sup Com, playing for the first few times with 5punkers was just awesome, the games that lasted 6 hours and ended with us nuking each other* were pure genius.
*me
Best MMO/RPG.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles - Not an MMO fan and couldn't find any other RPG's I played this year, that shouldn't take away from the fact that this expansion was fantastic, although I still haven't finished it. The design in this is beautiful and it gives me more Oblivion which is a Good Thing™
Best Single player.
Portal - No.. words.. should have sent a poet (or a cake)
Best Multi Player.
COD4 - Remains to be seen if we get bored but so far it rocks.
Most 5punky Game.
TF2 - This game was born out of a vat of pure 5punk
5punk Game of the Year.

Re: 5punk Game of the year awards.
Berk consulted me on this before putting the post up, because he predicted it (including the Trinity argument). It's a little bit grey, but it's still effectively the same game and not a re-release, so really can't be classed as a 2007 release. Nominate it if you like, because I know how much you guys love it, but it won't go to vote. Incidentally, had I been able to vote for it it would have got at least one of my nominations too.Dr. kitteny berk wrote:Games you vote for must have been released in 2007 as new or standalone games.

Twilight Princess came out this time last year did it not? So erm technically it doesn't countLateralus wrote: Best MMO/RPG.
*STUFF* I'm going to vote for Zelda: Twilight Princess on the Wii. I'm really enjoying it, the controls are nice and simple, and it just feels right.
