Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne

Post by Joose »

In the TS during the epic battle between me and team Jinxxface ( :x ) there was a brief question as to what frozen throne brings to the game and whether its worth getting. I thought i would give you a rundown of the highlights (as I am bored).

New Heros

one per race, and about half a dozen nutral ones you can hire, like creatures from the mercanary camps. The new human one kicks ass, and the orc one is highly handy. The night elf one is a bit poo, but they were fairly well catered for anyway. The undead one I have never really tried.

Of particular note is the Panderan Brewmaster (drunk chinese kungfu panda). Comedy Gold.

New units

Sorts out some of the balencing issues evident in the original. ie: the shiteness of night elves at defence is bolstered by the mountain giant and the rubbish orc anti air is bolstered by the Troll Beserkers.

New Map terrains

For teh eye candys.

Cinematic Goodness

I understand if you cant be arsed to play through the campaign game, but its worth doing for the cinematics. If you really cant be arsed, you can get cheat thingies to unlock them. Look for "mission unlocker" in the appropriate part of megagames.com. So prreeetty.

Blizzard games always have fantastic cutscenes. I mentioned to Grimmie last night how I played through half of Starcraft again recently just to watch the 'Battle on the Amerigo' cutscene again.

The only reason I played through all of Diablo 2 was for the cutscenes :)

That's made me think actually, the intro to Starcraft with the two redneck salvagers is probably exactly how I would imagine Eve to be. Loads of spaceships flying about piloted by hicks.

Huge fuckoff tank: *Fires a rocket round and blows up a dragoon*
