5punk Wiki

Post by Dog Pants »

I'm posibly always bleating on about this, but I think we really underutilise the Wiki and it nags at me. It's also pretty out of date.

Firstly, we've had quite a few new members recently. So to you lovely chaps, did you look at it to get a better gist of what 5punk was? Were you even aware of it?

Secondly, Wikis are open by definition, so all of you feel free to keep it updated or more accurate. I plan on seperating games we've played before from what we're actually playing at the moment, but I've got to go to work now.

I keep meaning to put Disco Board and 5cheduler help in the Wiki as it'll be easier to keep it up to date.
I'll have a look at the Board-Post-to-Wiki-Code idea when I've got time too.
I agree it needs fleshing out a bit though.

Not volunteering like but the front page definitely needs a re-do, like a proper wiki front page instead of a long list of random stuff

Can a Grimmie has admin rights to be able to edit the front page into something more wiki like?

Way back when I had some ideas of things to add, I'll see what I can find of those creative juices.

Stuff like banning users and such Dog Pants. Nothing to do with editing, really.

By the way, this page could use a little updating too:

http://www.game-monitor.com/search.php? ... ype=server is usually a good bet.

Because it's on the gui, not the console version, and the screen response is a little poor?

I've given it a bit of a shakeup, but it still needs some meat in places. Amazingly, there's no section for COD4. Well there is now, but it's empty.

I'm trying to keep the front page free of individual game discriptions, linking to them from the appropriate paragraphs. That way we can keep the front page about 5punk, rather than the games.

Not too extraordinary, we're just too busy playing it to write a wiki entry ;)

I play with the wiki occasionally.

Some people need to help out with the descriptions of the members though.

Yeah. The members description is a funny thing. Being on there is probably seen as some sort of recognition or acceptance, and the longer the description the better. That isn't the case though and I'd hate for anyone who didn't have an entry to feel excluded, which is always the risk with this sort of thing.

You're welcome :) To be fair it's not hard to come up with things to write about you.
