A day off work, a thing, some stuff, a couple of thingies and a great big hmmm with a bow on it. In fact I haven't a clue.

I don't like xmas for the present giving part of it, I always end up disappointed with what I've got unless I've already picked it. I get shitfaced, wake up late, eat constantly until the lunch is placed in front of me, eat that, then eat more snacks that have been placed around the room by my mum, then pass out. That's the part I enjoy, the acceptance by family of my drinking, even if it's just for a day.

Bizarrely it's about the only day of the year I'm sober. (ish)

Have asked for knife sharpener and books, no point asking for games, anime, booze or food, as my family decree I already have more than enough of those.

I do not know, normally I'm asked, but as I'm at uni, I'm expect student style things which won't be of any benefit at all being given too me.

Luckly I can sort out one present out of the 5 I have to get next Thursday at the NEC hopefully.

Probably nothing, as I don't do Christmas and hence don't ask for anything. Normally my family tries to send me stuff anyway, but this year I've remedied that by the simple expedient of not telling anyone my address (this is made easier by the fact that I don't actually know it).

You'll have to write that in Chinese, and it's not like I'm the only scary white man here.

Just please don't send me a package full of wasps again.

True, but you're by far the ugliest scary white man, anywhere.

I'm getting shoes mostly. I hate shopping for stuff I wear and shoes are the worst, so the ones I've got are years old and nackered. Probably some DVDs.

The problem I find is that I can afford to buy anything cheap enough to reasonably ask for as a present, so anything I want I'd have already bought. Couple that with the fact I only really want DVDs and games anyway and that my family are clueless as to what games are any good, means I generally get a load of DVD boxed sets. Which is fine.

I did drop a hint to my mum that I wanted a big LCD TV, but I can't see them getting me that.

I'm buying myself a large LCD TV next month as an early present to my next month.

Pffft. I'm not saying everyone else can't celebrate, but I choose not to. One of the major benefits of living in China is not having all of the Christmas stuff up for several months of the year (just for a week or two), and there are definitely no Christmas carols playing in the shops.

On the other hand, I probably won't be going to work on Christmas Day - but only because I doubt there'll be much to do.

I know, I was only joking. It's kind of a stock response that you're supposed to make when anyone says they don't care much about Christmas. I don't care that much either, not until the day at least.

i don't have the slightest idea. i hope my mum gives me nothing, because she already got me a fucking expensive television, and it wouldn't feel right if i got something else. but a DVD would be allright. and from my missus, well... i'm not sharing that here. her parents always give me something as well, last year it was a great big cake and a book about that chinese emperor tomb with the stone warriors.
