Up and Coming PVP Ops

Post by Hehulk »

There seems to be a growing threat in and around Metropolis from triger happy gate campers. More than a fwe of us have suffered at the hands of these w**kers and it after a discussion last night, we're all of a dispossition to do something about it. We've got the tools now, we've got the head count, we just need people to be online. Can everyone please try and have one of the following types of ships in frulegur:

Battleship, fitted to gank. Biggest guns you can fit, even if it means two or three reactor controls. Once these guys start getting hit, then tend to run, so aplha striking is very important. Also as many damage mods as possible, just to push the damage even further. Don't worry about a tank, as three battleships hitting one will kill it much faster then it can kill one of us.

Cloaking Ship. Preferably a covert ops ship with a cover ops cloak, but any frig with a cloak on it would suffice.

Tackling Ship. I'm going to build a number of virgils, merlins, crucifiers and Tristan, all fitted to tackle. Last thing we want is our friend the ganker leaving the party early before we get some retribution.

basic plan is once we find said lovely person the cloaker warps to him, get 15 km behind him, then the tackler warp to the cloak, locks him down. finially the BSs enter the sceen and let the ganker have it. Fit your weapons with the most damaging ammo (EMP, Antimatter, multifrequency), as we'll be able to choose the warp in range, so...

Once we get all this sorted, it'll be easy, especially if we have a jammer along :D

Let me at 'em. That little [expletive deleted] ganked my fourth badger 2 yesterday with 5 mill ISK worth of 'reels on board. Oooh, if I find that [expletive deleted] I'm gonna shove my [expletive deleted] [expletive deleted] right up his [expletive deleted]. :x

So, I can fly ECM ship (Blackbird) with support mods installed as well (shield/armour reps/cap chargers). Or a Merlin tackler or cloaked frig.

Sadly, I now have no money and I've lost my primary means of making any

May I suggest a couple of dry runs so we get the drills down pat?

And here's a first on my revenge list: Xaeon of Murder-Death-Kill Corp. Flies a Raven in Fru. Sec -10 and a 5mill ISK bounty.

I'd use my BS, but due to lack of playage it's still not insured. Can anyone help with this?

Yes! Anti-ganking!

Let's see....

Battleship - No
Covert Ops - No
Tackler - Yes!

Hooray! I am teh cannon fodder!

:boogie:

On a more serious note, I definately agree with Friz about having a few dry runs. If we fuck this up it'll be very expensive and as a group we're pretty inexperienced with PvP.

I'm training all the high level stuff needed for Covert Ops on my way to Assault Frigate, so I'll make a slight detour and get a proper Covert Ops setup sorted for this. It'll be very much worth it to get revenge on all those griefers out there (and gankers who pod newbie Frig pilots ARE griefers, despite their protests that they're pirates).

In light of this, is it a good idea having a mining trip in Fru if there's so many pirates? (or are they mainly just gate whores?)

Gate ganking whores. If they do come and cause trouble, we should be more than able now. I should (god willing) have my cyclone gank set-up sorted by tommorow, as well as the cyclone for tanking.

Not alot of thigns hit harder than 720mm 'scout' guns with EMP ammo and two gyrostabiliser fitted.

He has done some videos on the forums, not of him gate-camping but fighting in some war. One of the ship he flies has about eight missles and the energy bit in the middle with about 15 segments, I don't know what a Raven is.

8 missiles you say? Can you check the video again, not heard of any ships with 8 missiles slots, I don't think...

I have to be a pain in the ass, but for us to make money, we need to be online. Crokite doesn't mine it's self

8 hardpoints, 6 missiles on them. In another vid he has 1 missle and 7 guns that the icon looks like 3 stacks of coins, and they do a sort of sonic warp effect. 18 energy segments in the middle. What sort of a ship is that?

Edit: oh, a battleship, cheers. Seems a bit odd to put all that effort in, make all that money, learn those skills and build/buy a ship like that, and then just gate camp.
