Err... 5punkorp's dead... ADVISE ME

Post by eRabbit »

Yea so I was on Eve last night... and the only person I saw in corp chat other than me was Silver... who we all know is an alt. I'm not making a "omg the corp's dying" post as everyone's aware of this, and to be honest I think it is the end this time. However, I'd like some options of where to go corp-wise when I'm back for a month over christmas, because 5punkorp itself isn't up to much anymore and I'm kinda out of the loop. TA!

What I said last night wabbit boy. Going back to BSI is your best bet (you can get in easily and have friends there). Alternatives might include Hobos (Insrg), or maybe one of the Tri corps who are recruiting at the moment if you want to do something completely different (like nano gangs).

I'll be looking to do the same as soon as my play time picks up again.

 I'm still here, just not on weekends... too busy drinking or biking (although usualy not both at the same time.)

I'm too lazy / sporadic to look for somewhere else to go so staying put.

Although 5punkorp is a bit shell like at the moment, I've always managed to find a 316 gang to go out fighting with when online and in the mood for yaaring. I hear that 316 are on the decline and this may be true, but there still seems to be more willingness for pew pew than there ever was in ISS.

I'm still here as well just have less then 2 weeks left of college and then I get my degree, and the puppy been a pain too but he is getting a lot better so once everything is done you'll see me more.

Also most have migrated to ?? (not 0.0 forum) or doing their side thing ie J and P. 5punk is still alive just not all in 5punk as the pvp way I am sure you would like. Most that are left are industry and afk/family folks. So rab it all depends on your definition of dead but I am sure once people get things straightened out in their live and such they will step up to a more active role and we'll get new and returning active members.

Enough deep thoughts from me Dres your turn I'm going back to the books.

I"m a 5pork :likesitall:

:boogie:

Just received 2 more high sec pos requests so I'll be away from 5punk a little longer but I'll be back

I'm only running my alt at the moment, my main has expired and I've not renewed it. It was in 5punkorp but I moved it out because of some wars and I'd just spent buggerme loads on a shiny implant clone - I didn't want to accidentally set an autopilot and get pwned.

I'm not sure if I'll come back to eve for PvPing narf, I'm enjoying TF2 and COD4 for PvP, and eve for a spot of carebearing.

Basically North, everyone who plays a significant amount has (or is in the process of) upping sticks to a more active corp. It's been coming for a while. In fact, it's been happening for a while.

5punkorp is not 0 players though and X-5punkers is certainly still there.

The thing I don't know is whether 316 will let us stay with our level of inactivity (I guess they will) and whether 316 is in terminal decline at the moment (which I think it may be)

Ho, hum, I'm still playing, just not as much as I'd like

Just an update on whats happening with me: Gunslinger and I are planning to start a small corp with a RL friend and my brother where we'll war dec random corps and demand ransoms to stop :)

I haven't been very active recently due to uni time restrictions and lack of interest but hopefully this will give me something to do in eve for a while, I can't be bothered with 0.0 warfare right now.

I'd like to stay in 5punkorp for now though as this isn't finalised and I want to reach my 2nd eveday in 5punkorp :w00t: I also need my PC fixed before I can actually play properly, I'm sharing with my brother atm. If this does happen though I'll obviously remain a 5punker and keep in touch through x-5punkers :aww:

Working on a painfully slow hotel pc ftl, but I'd like to maintain my stance that 5punkorp is an idea, a community, a group of friends before it was ever a corp. 5punkorp gave us a place to work together for great things and facilitated joining larger groups like I$$, HoB05, and 3!6. Our varied playstyles, timezones, RL statuses (statii?) and such make anything more than a random op nearly impossible to coordinate.

5punk is forevuh! As long as a single member exists, 5punk lives on. I have NO idea when I'll be able to rejoin the active Eve community, and I sincerely hope that the corp I'm in still has the standings that it enjoys now when I do. If not, I'm sure I can mission with Dolly, mine with Q, build some bits for ships w/ Frizzy, or just MAYBE shoot some ships w/ some pvp'ers. But it will be because of 5punk that I've met ANY of you. That can't be taken away or broken.

Ugh, sitting in a hotel, missing my traditional Eve time it tough. I habitually asked when checking in whether I needed a password to log onto the net. /me sniffs

fly safe mates, but remember that this IS a game, and having fun is priority. Building the corp capabilities is something that brought me back time and time again. I know I'll be missing that every day until I can see the Aki tower for myself.

if everyone is going to other corps or other games slide over 5punk to me and in 2 weeks after I finish up with school I'll recruit my man dark back and 1 or 2 others and hit a recruiting drive. We'll be lowering our SP mean average but its what needs to be done. 5punk would remain an empire based corp till more active members can participate in corp ops. it will be slow at first but will get better.

Mean while if we're going in a slight hiatus mode get us out of the alliance. No reason why players who are on to trade, invent, prod, missions need WT. Most have gone over to ?? so that will be fine but thats 0.0 stuff anyways which for right now has nothing to do with 5punk.

well i got work to do so chat w/ u lata

It's ok, it got alot easier to line everything up once I found out you can move the box by dragging the arrows. It was a pain to fly things into place. I almost want to redo the setup. Maybe next time I have 5 hours to kill. :P

I don't think 5punkorp will ever truly die, it just goes through phases. It's always been a slackers hang out where people don't feel any pressure to log on and do stuff if they don't want to and since my misguided efforts to make it into more of a pvp centric effort came to not a lot, we may as well accept that the sleeping dog is best left to lie as she is.

Eternal Rising is ticking along in much the same way. It provides a relaxed framework for the occasional PvP - it takes me about 2 minutes to get a gang invite on average when I want to go pew pew - but if people would rather not have this option at all, then I'll happily pull out of the alliance. It looks like the only people who actually like the war decs and PvP are leaving to pursue their own goals anyway :)
