Once someone has played it for a bit online, can they let me know what it's like?

I very rarely play the single player modes on games anymore, as I don't have the time, and if it's any good online, I think this will be my next venture :)

Im enjoying the single player, tis very entertaining. Cant imagine what the multiplayer would be like, and I doubt I can try it due to it being floorware.

*has Quake 4, and not a dirty copy that got picked up off the floor*

Single player is great, I've only spent about 10 minutes online, and it seems to be similar to UT2k4, which is nice since my UT2k4 died a long time ago.

Yes, more of the same - as always. Haven't played FM2005, but have played every CM...ever, plus some LMA's and other assorted footy managy games.

The live match-view is a little clumsy compared to CM5, but nowhere near as bad as LMA2004, everything else is far superior. (Incidentally LMA2005 has the best live match-view I've ever seen)

I bought it as the bug-infested CM5 was basically shit compared to its forerunners (apart from the match view - which any fans of the classics will disregard as utterly irrelavant). No bugs found yet, refs are a little card-happy and teams' confidence in a manager plays quite a big role - positive team-talks help to redress this as a new manager.

Player histories are there (absent from CM5) and there are some luvverly stats to drool over. Nice feature I just found was "possible finishing positions in league" calculating automagically your highest/lowest place based on remaining fixtures.

If like me, you're a fan of the old-school CMs, with endless levels of stats pumping out of the screen at you, it's FTW. If you're more into the fancy graphics and "realistic" representations of live matches, go for a console-originated sim like LMA or FIFA.

Despite being a football fan, I utterly despise all football computer games.

CM is just fucking dull, and things like FIFA 2005 (or whatever) hold as much fascination as watching paint dry.
