Renewed SLA beardage

Post by Dog Pants »

As soon as I've got my connection fixed I'll be resuming beardage for all those still interested. During my absence I've been working on a sourcebook which, while primarily designed for GMs, may be of interest to anyone playing. It includes some rules tweaks that I'll implement with the consent of the players, and importantly a flow of finance.

The cashflow system has some implications - mainly that at the moment the players will have to start thiking about paying their bills. Eventually investments and sponsorships should overtake the outgoings and allow the characters to live a more luxurious lifestle, or rake in some extra cash every month. It's mostly a roleplay mechanic that backs up lifestyle choices with a financial cost. If anyone has concerns then feel free to ask until I've put it all in the Wiki (or I can give people a draft copy of the file), but the highest at the moment is about 450c/month (starting next month so there's time to account for it), so it's not bank-breaking.

Anyone else wanting to join in can still do so, and indeed at any stage. Just poke myself or one of the existing players, or check the Wiki, for any pointers.

Yeah, I noticed he was having problems a bit back. What's happening with him?

I haven't heard from him in months. Maybe Mrs. Joose killed him in his sleep? :(

Hurrah for resumed beardage! I was having worrying moments where Dirk was crossing over into real life.

Well, no reply from the text I sent Joose at lunch time. We'll just have to wait for him to come back on his own

As for peoples' finances; monthly outgoings, minus any wealth advantages are:

Grim - 280c
Deject - 330c
Gerald - 380c
Dirk - 330c
Gekijou - 395c
Emile - 420c

These are based on basic quality food and a regular lifestyle. Check the Wiki for alternatives if you want to reduce it or live it up more at a greater expense. I'll explain the sums on request.

Oh, and inactive characters won't be hammered into debt. The charges will be frozen if they don't do enough BPNs in the month.

The drinks are on Emile!

At least I think that's why his clothes are damp.

Those are outgoings. Emile lives an expensive life.

Basic Wraith Raider foods. Costs 5c/month more because they're fussy eaters (like to eat live things occasionally, even when scrimping).

Could someone be so kind as to firnish me with a spreadsheet that I can make a character with?

I'll have a dig about on my floor for the rulebook as well, sure it's here somewhere, although if anyone spots it before I find it, please let me know.

I'm currently dropping all this on the floor. I'll give you a poke when it hits the floor.

This friday is ideal 'cos I'm on leave and Mrs pants is at work until 10. I can do saturday or either the weekend after (or any given weekend in the near future really).

I've got plenty of new material, but the next one might have to span a couple of nights as we'll all no doubt want to go over the custome rules I'll be implementing.
