Halo Film May Actually Turn Out Good Shocker!

Post by Joose »

Ive just discovered that the Halo film is going to have Peter Jackson as Exec Producer, and the special effects are to be handled by WETA!

Even better; Uwe Boll is *not* going to direct! It was all a lie! Woo!

Joy to the world!
:boogie:

EDIT: For the inevitable unbelievers, I shall include linkies to reliable news sources. But at a time that is more normal than 3:22am.

and yet all the PC game movies will suck because Uwe Boll is a rabid ferret with a sockmonkey up his ass.

Someone was whining that they haven't made a HL2 Movie yet.
And thank god - The movie industry would slaughter it. They'd make up new bits to the story, or tell old bits badly. They'd have to give Gordon a voice, and obviously add in some sort of busty heroine..

Oh, and they'd make the G-Man shit. Obviously.

It would make for a very dull film. 2 hours of hot crowbar-crate action.

Although in HL2 we already have a heroine now, and the the closeups of G-Man were a bit spacky. All they need to do is make Gordon sound like Joe Pasquale and your nightmare would become reality.

Righto, linkies:

Peter Jackson to produce, Alex Garland (writer of the Beach) to write the story

Uwe Boll wont be touching it with a very long stick

It may still be a not great film, but at least now its not doomed to being shite from the off.

Anyone who seen Jackson's finest film, Braindead will know he should have been in charge for Head of the Dead.
Ha Ha, there's an interview linked from that page where he blames everyone else for the poor films. To (mis)quote him: "I'm...complete crap"
Sound like he's doing Postal, which was such a shit game he should do it justice. Don't know about Dungeon Siege, though - expect he's been down Toys R Us and bought a plastic He-Man sword...

Braindead may have better production values but I prefer the earlier Bad Taste. I've yet to see another horror film out do the mental gore in that film and that bowl of sick is just wrong :)

Halo has a complex mix of mythology, characters and worlds
Complex? I for one will admit that I was cerebrally overwhelmed by such a heavyweight intellectual of a game.

Presumably uttered whilst belming furiously.
