I couldn't get into the first half-life game, but I might give this one a go, especially if it comes with CS : Source as well. (I assume this is the case?)
it's not been great with some new releases, after ages tweaking the config with doom 3 I got it just about playable, and it's not amazing on Far Cry, but this seems to be awesome!!,
So far i've had a couple of smallish slowdowns with loads of action, but the water and reflection effects are great, I've got it on 2x anti-aliasing, might try turning it up and see what happens :D
[edit] It does indeed come with CS Source (i've yet to try it out) all versions get CS, I got the silver version with HL and DOD source, and all valve games on Steam.
Shit, I can't remember what to do exactly by there. Sorry mate!
I'll say this too, never before has there been a game where the graphics just constantly wow me, most games I just get used to them after playing them for a bit, but after a day of playing Half Life 2 still manages it.
The bridge sequence during Highway 17 was supeeerb!
Anywhere past from where you talk to the girls dad cained up(in that lift thing box'agigger). To where the lights go out after you go through the double doors.
Well I've been playing it one hell of a lot these past two days (it was 4 am last night before I managed to stop playing the game for a moment and check the time, and that's only because it was loading a save game. I didn't get to bed till 5 anyway).
The ending may be disappointing, but the rest of the game is just so much fun it doesnt matter too much, but it does feel like something of an anticlimax, somewhat like the last battle bit in Halo 2 did, just without the cool story ending stuff.
