Attracting teh n00bs

Post by Woo Elephant Yeah »

Okay guys, think it's time for a brain storming session on how to get more 5punkers.

Please post any ideas on how you think we can attract more b3tans'/people to 5punk.

I know a few of you who think it's fine as it is, but narf I think 5punk is now ready for more members/input which in turn will help 5punk to grow and improve itself*

So please, any ideas you can think of, just stick it down in here, and myself and Stoat will run through them and see what we think will work.

Petition Rob to put a links page on B3ta? There are plenty of other B3ta related sites to fill it up - rathergood.com, weebls-stuff.com, FTLFM.com, glassco.cx...

There's thousands of B3tards out there and many of them must be gamers, so I can only assume more aren't here because they don't know about us. Or Berk scared them off.

This.
Small pixelated buttons for people to stick on their sites.
Big fat flashing epilepsy inducing banners.
Lots of 5punk based b3ta material.
Telings friends (of which I am t3h master.)

etc etc

..
PROFIT!

There was a page with 5punk link buttons on, it doesn't appear to be working though, it may need more cheese :cheese:

Yes, spam them constantly until we get their endorsement. Okay, maybe not. But it was someone posting one of the main b3ta threads (compo vote I think) that drew me here.

A good chance would be to do something newsletter-worthy to do with 5punk or gaming and let people find it from there. I've only had mentions for stuff I've found, not made, though.

The best idea we had was Project Badger to recreate badger badger mushroom in UT2004, didn't get too far though, but it was a cracking plan!

THIS! :above:

Unfortunately I had no map making skills whatsoever, and no teamspeak at the time.

If someone could make a better badger map for ut2004, it really would be a simple yet effective thing to do, and I already have weebls permission to use the music from the animation.

Anyway, carry on, there's some good ideas so far....
