BUM Dispandex

Well that might be a little premature, but Hobos are joining Insurgency in Venal. I don't know about 11B and Asgard, but I suspect they'll go their separate ways. What we need to decide, is what are we going to do with 5punkorp and ourselves?

Main Points:

* 5punkorp will not be joining Insurgency or going to Venal

* Hobo's have invited any PvPers from 5punkorp to join their corp and go to Venal with them. You'll go with my blessing ofc, and may rejoin 5punk at anytime afterwards.

* Nouveau Riche will continue to run as is, with me and Dres in charge. Any current members can stay, so long as their mains never directly oppose MC. NR will continue buying people's mins off them at Jita prices, but the focus will be to provide minerals and isk for 5punkorp.

* Our main focus for the immediate future will be to work with Dres on organising industrial output, coordinating the efforts of NR, 5punkience and 5punkorp.

* HQ is still in Goram, but I'm going to leave the Maspah office open with all the forward basing stuff (loot, ammo, replacement ships).

That about sums it up for now. Whilst there's no reason for us to actually leave BUM at this time, it may well turn into a one corp alliance pretty soon! Once I've taken stock of who's left in 5punkorp and wanting to do what, we'll look at our options again.

My personal preference, mainly cos I feel attached to 5punkorp and the people in it, but also cos I think it'll suit us very well, is to join Eternal Rising. They have a similar attitude to us (very easy going), have some good plans, a nice bit of space for ratting and mining in Great Wildlands, plenty of PvP action with strong Euro and US representation. Although not affiliated in anyway, they'd incline towards MC if pushed, so no complications with NR. They're well aware what 5punkorp is, and what we can provide, but I really like Sylva Moon and Elfaen. They're sensible, straight talking guys who do not abide retards a la BD type. If everyone else would be happy to go along with it, we have an open invitation from them to join. No rush, and no pressure at all, but I think it'd be fun.

I'd say i saw it coming, but i didnt so i wont.I 'd also say i'm disapointed. But again, i'm not, so i wont. As i said down the forum somwhere, 5punk till i die, so point me at the next bunch of willing freinds, and away we go again!

Also i need to stop taking major breaks from the game, everytime i do, either we leave an alliance, or the alliance leaves us. Are we leaving an alt korp in bum, just to keep the name alive?, or is that pointless

Pretty pointless I think. narf, I've not really enjoyed my time in BUM since the Sylph thing, which pretty much proved that the Alliance was never going to amount to much. Anyway, this is not a time for recriminations! I feel kinda bad for Fear tho, after all the work he put into creating the Alliance site.

Anyway, onwards and upwards as they say. Let's bring our special brand of 5punky humour to a whole new group of people!

Hey ho...

ER sounds good to me.

Who gets to keep the alliance funds? I'd secure them as soon as possible so they don't run off with them - unless they own them.

Is there a reason there is not a post on the alliance forums?

my only (till now unspoken) reservation with going to ER was that they were courting Hobos aswell. being in 3 alliances with certain of their members would have been a little masochistic I think.

I say dump BUM and go to ER. As a brand BUM is pretty ruined anyway

Epitaph;
I was in an alliance with BD and he ruined my BUM.
maybe not completely fair to blame the *whole* thing on him, but he's just such an easy target :P

Not entirely true Bomber. Whilst ER would like the extra PvPers, they had major reservations about Hobos for exactly the same reasons as you, but I edited that bit out of the convo I posted simply because recriminations and mud slinging are simply not constructive at this point.

Fear - Alliance funds are all held in Nouveau Riche. There's not much there anyway.

Bit of a shame really...we have had some brilliant times in BUM.

Anyway, i'm going to be joining Hobo's on there northern adventure. I will be keeping La Vitoria (or however you spell it!!) in 5punk, and Travey/Tracey in NR (even though I have a sad story about tracey -.-).

But im sure I will be back :D 5punker for life! :ahoy:

Damn information filters :shakefist: :rage:

Mudslinging and recriminations are underrated imo, especially in combination with smak ;)

anyhoo, it will be a shame to part with most of the Hobos (Algy, Karazak et al), I guess if we run into each other again it will be 50/50 as to which side of their guns we will be on. Pew Pew.

Do we have a likely deployment yet?

Oh yeah and speaking for the less active of us ...

Big slices of :pie: for those of you that have generated enough reputation for 5punkorp that we would be actively recruited by another alliance. We know who you are and we're not afraid to ride your coat-tails (in return bummings and the odd wolf bagging, of course) :likesitall:

I had the same thoughts, but didn't say anything also.

I'm fairly sure you are +10 on my char, so if you decide to oppose us then tell me first.

Edit: What is your sad story about tracey? Also, if your main is gonna oppose BOB isn't that bad for NR? And get on IRC you big hamtoucher.

Oh and if you need stuff jumping out of Litom, please contract that too JimmySav today/tonight (as I don't think I will be around for longer than that). The low sec jump off for us is Shamemi (just type in sham, its in derilik).

It's 'Disbanding'.

I don't anything much more to add, as what alliance we were in never made much difference to me, I only really care about 5punkers.

Oops, a rare typo! Edited...

Btw this isn't the first Alliance that has asked, but the others weren't that interested in 5punkorp as a whole. My first and most important rule is that wherever I go, I'll take 5punkorp with me and it must be a suitable home that provides all the stuff that we want. So basically I tell alot of people to poke off :)

ER specifically mentioned the whole corp, so we can all take some of the credit for generating that bit of rep. They're currently based in Great Wildlands, having carved out a little bit of space to call their own. Maspah office is close enough hence keeping it open for now. We'll probably make the switch towards the back end of this week. I want everyone to have enough time to get up to speed with developments, move ships around, check politics in ER, empire wars etc before we jump!

I think I know the constellation they're on about, having spent alot of time in GW. It's a nice place, although depending upon the size of the alliance I can see overcrowing being an issue since much of GW is shite :(

Can't see why. They don't want blob warfare, and they're comming north? Least I get to shoot BD I guess...

My thoughts entirely. But please do shoot BD. Hard, and repeatedly. Although he seems to think getting primaried is a good thing because it 'proves' he is a threat, rather than the real reason, that all his gang mates are frantically evemailing the enemy begging them to remove him from the battlefield

Gee, it's not to provide you intel on where to pod a BD, is it? :)

Jimmy, sorry to hear about Tracey, that does suck hard!

While laying awake in bed last night, a thought occurred to me, that is actually a compilation of several other thoughts. What about keeping BUM as basically a 5punk alliance? Get all our alt corps together under one banner? It would basically only gain us a joint alliance chat and email, but would allow us to recruit other 'like minded' corps without having to ask them to disband to join 5punkorp. On at least 3 occasions I had nearly recruited such corps, but it came down to a matter of not wanting to leave a corp they had worked so hard to build up. (Also, we could save all of Fear's hard work from going down the pooper too).

On the downside, somebody could war-dec the whole lot of us, and make life really really bad for industry as a whole in one shot.

The actual points for and against though, came down to the following:

FOR: 1) twas us that came up with BUM as a name, (iirc, as we bum rampantly!) 2) It does give us additional communication tools for efforts between the divisions of 5punk 3) It would save us coming up with the isk to form an alliance in the future (if we so chose to do so at a later date) 4) It allows us to recruit corps instead of simply individual pilots, 5) We get to make the decisions and direct the alliance, rather than being in somebody else's pocket and needing to follow along.

AGAINST: 1) It would keep us from joining another alliance that has higher levels of activity, 2) BUM's name is not synonymous with nice industrial people that won't shoot you on sight, 3) It would take time from our leadership to run the alliance, thereby reducing 'fun' time for our leaders.

It's NOT that I don't want to join ER, I just have enjoyed that we were part of the planning for what BUM did. We had a fairly large voice, and the uncertainty of the amount of input we'll have with another alliance that we're not a founding member of may be 'different', could go badly for getting our membership active and regrown, could go well and pull ace pilots into our folds again.
