Previous Paper Marios were excellent but this isn't so much a simple RPG like the others, more a traditional Mario game, as I understand it. And also not as good, apparently.

BOTH!
Just played Resident evil through for the second time, I've now got a gangsta costume, an infinite Tommy gun and and infinate rocket launcher. Nothing relieves stress like killing zombies like a chicago 1920's gangster.

That does sound entertaining. I've already got the 2 gamecube Zelda titles to start with, so given that Mario is more RPG like, I'll maybe get Resident Evil for the variety.

I'm gonna pick up Super Paper Mario when it comes down in price a bit, as the gameplay bits look interesting to me, however the RPG/text throughout the game will probably irritate me a bit.

I just wanna jump around "old school mario" style but with shinier graphics.

I already have Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Zak & Wiki, Mario Kart, Wii Zapper & Medal Of Honour Airborne on my christmas list.
