Dear American 5punkers...
I shall soon be coming to your lovely country for a year! I have a mobile phone that I would like to bring over with me, and I'm wondering if you guys know any shops that would sell me a charger for it?
The phone is a Motorola V3
Oh, and I shall be in Florida if anybody cares :D

Don't they use a different voltage or something to us? Or is it actually as simple as just getting a plug converter?Vowles wrote:You can get one over here goto most phone shops they will be able to order you on if they dont have one in stock.

I'm one step ahead here.... I'm going to get my phone unblocked from 02 so that I canput a yank sim card into it, saves me having to buy a new handset over thereTy aka Sir Die Aloty wrote:But I would advise getting anew phone over there, It will cost you more than you could imagine to use it other there, *I know*

I would watch the plug converter idea if i were you. An american friend brought his hair clippers over here, used it with a plug adapter, and almost dropped the thing in fright. It sounded like it was possessed by a demon.
A really angry demon.
If the voltage difference does that to clippers, i really wouldnt want to risk my mobile on it.

ooo
UPDATE:
The back of my charger has the following inscribed...
"INPUT 100-240V~50/60Hz"
This means it is safe with just a plug adapter yes?
