skills and specialities

Post by Joose »

Ive had a cunning thought! Well, two cunning thoughts actually. Maybe a two part cunnning thought...

anyway..

1)We should have some kind of system to see who in the corp is best at what. I know im good at processing ore, but maybe one of you lot is better. or maybe you are better at teh manufacturing (arf!). or maybe one of you desperately wants something manufactured and im not around?

Question is, what would be the best way to plot this progress? Either we have a thread in this forum which we could keep updating with the skills we have that might be usefull to others (easy to set up, pain in the ass to read/update) or i could set up a little php/mySQL bit of magic that you can enter your skills into (mild pain to set up, but easier to read, slightly easier to update and viewable from the in game browser). Up to you guys. oooh, i could do a vot :D

2)I realise any attempt to organise 5punkorp could be a futile effort, but here goes: We should specialise more. At the moment, we have no clue what each other are good at, so we are all training to be moderately good at everything. This is maddness! The other possibility is that we are all slightly specialising in the same damn thing! Also maddness!

I propose that we declair a couple of proffesions (miner, refiner, builder, researcher etc.) and concentrate on those things. Doesnt mean you cant train in other things, it would just mean that, for instance, if i know fab is the dogs danglies at researching, i will not bother so much with my researching skills. Any thoughts on this? or shall i shut up?

I was going to suggest something like this myself. There seem to be a lot of us training Refining skills etc, when really there is no need as there are quite a few of us with good skills in this area.

I've voted for the php wizardy goodness - mainly to give Joose something to do other than insert gherkins into his bottom.

I will post my skill levels when I get home from work.

Also: I like grapes!

Roight, I won't bother with all of them but here's the main ones:

Industry

Industry: lvl 5
Refining/Refiner Efficiency:lvl 5
Hebergite Processing: lvl 4
Kernite Processing: lvl 3 (not noticing any difference after lvl2 so sod training it anymore)
Mining: lvl 4
Production Efficiency: lvl 5
Mass Production: lvl 2

Science!

Science: lvl 4 and a bit (stopped training half way through to lvl 5)
Metallurgy: lvl 4
Astrogeology: lvl 4

Trade

Trade: lvl 4
Accounting: lvl 3

Any other areas where we can specialise as a corp?

I'm going to give this a bash in about an hour and a half (hopefully), once it's downloaded. Having not played it yet I'm as noob as you can get, but if there's a hole to be filled, skillwise, in 5punkorp I'd be happy to tailor myself for the greater good. Any suggestions? I'd be glad of some direction in what seems to be a vast game.
