If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

I'd be tempted, but apparently it has no kind of physical clicking, so it's just like a damn trackpad. Plus, it's a £35 corded mouse.

I'm not convinced by the scroll ball, looks more like one of those awful nipple controllers you get on laptops.

also, why do they have to hide the fact that there 2 buttons?! get over it apple philes, single button mice are not practical these days.

Following a series of "accidents" and complaints filed by the US public Apple are forced to make a slight alteration to their new mouse design.

The second reason I'll never go Apple: NO RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON.

the first reason is they suck at games.

This has a right-mouse button, doesn't it? And a middle one. And two on the side I think.. that squeezy bit confused me.

The roller thing might be quite good, but other than that it's just a mouse. Not especially Mighty.

Also, Mighty Mouse was rubbish.

Okay, you're going to love this:
macteens wrote:Right-clicking may be a little tedious compared to other mice. Since it figures which area you're clicking by using a sensor to determine where you're finger is placed, you can't right-click if your left finger is resting on the left side of the mouse. You have to lift your left finger up to click, so the device knows for sure which area you're applying pressure to.
Apple, what the fuck is wrong with having two seperate buttons? I bet you can't do a click 'em both at the same time either - which is fairly important in some CAD apps.

Now that's just stupid. I imagined there was a rocker in the front-middle of the mouse and the whole body of the mouse tilts left or right to push down on the relevent micro switch. But it sounds much more complicated and stupid

They should have done the rocker idea for sure, then implanted a touchpad like the powerbooks have - so you can do the two finger scroll trick too (which is very good). That would have also meant the damn mouse didn't have a little clitoris sticking out if it.

As for the squeeze... ugh.

Oh and this should tickle you, by default the software makes both left and right click do a left click... WHY?! It doesn't do that for any other more-than-one-button mouse...

I quite like the look of it, I'm into minimalist stuff, but yes, it seems in this case to be form over function.

And why the fuck would any one buy a $50 RRP mouse like that when you can get better ones that actually click cheeper?
