Setting up a mining rig

I have had an idea of muchos cunningness...
Would we be able to (or allowed) to set up a mining rig (i.e. Starbase type structure) in Fru?
If we all chip in and kit it out with plenty of sentry guns, then fill it with all it needs to run, we should be able to hammer the crap out of the rocks and get loads of minerals and CASH! in not much time (and we may even get bounty from it too if Angels show up)

I would say it's probably going to be a bit too difficult for us, although it is possible if we don't mind too many forays into 0.0 space.

First off, we need ice to run it, to run it for one week will need someone to mine for 47 hours per week (with one mining laser) just to get enough, plus getting the damn thing into place in the first place would need a freighter, wouldn't it? {edit: sorry, you'd only need a bestower with expanders... oh wait, i have one of those!}

Just a thought.

Well this has been an ambition of mine since starting the game, but I was told they're only worth the bother in 0.0 space . I was also under the impression they mined planets rather than asteroid belts? Either way, if this looks like something viable then count me in.
