If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

No real budget to speak of, so long as it's nothing one would deem ridiculous (or rediculous if you're 15/16ths of the internet).

I asked this exact same question a while ago, I'll go dig it out.

But yes, Wacom (sp) seems brill, that's what I got in the end.

Ah excellent, cheers Mr Fear! So the Volito seems the way to go then?

Anything of note worth mentioning by the owners of said devices?

i just bought one for my brother. £20 including delivery.
Also, a decent sized 6 x 8" area. Cant beat it for value, but as yet untested. Its resolution could be shite, but its similar to mine, and thats ok.

Happy Volito 2 owner, it:

- does the job, you don't have to hold the pen vertically like older models
- has okay software, but works well with existing products
- is Fista certified (should that matter)

but it

- requires a bit of practice, particularly with the pressure you apply
- doesn't make you any good at drawing (I can supply evidence of this)
- isn't for professional arty types

What about jumpy mouse cursor issues? It seems to be a fairly common complaint with the volito, but not the bamboo...

It's worth mentioning that Wacom are pretty good with drivers. It might not be the world's best software, but my lovely old USB Graphire 1 is still supported after god knows how many years.

Personally never noticed any, even with my old PC which wasn't a titan, but I've never used it as a mouse replacement, only grabbed it while in a drawing program.
