I'd suggest grabbing the doomsday engine, Lets you run doom, hexen and heretic in a nice windowed box (not from steam though)spoodie wrote:I think I'll have that Super Pack as well.

Already got.
Some of them, like Doom and Quake can be made to look quite shiney with modern clevernessness with require the original games files to function.
I know WinDoom let you play with a mouse, and GL Quake added transparent water and mirrors with a 3dfx card, but not sure if they've continued developing them.

Duke nuke was apogee, then 3drealms I think.
I assume any games that did support network gaming still do, but grabbing replacement engines for the older ones might help
