DAMNIT. Ladders take up a lot of sticks. At least you can stop on them now.
Also, could I be whitelisted just so I can see the cool stuff you guys make?

Done. I've assumed "deject" as your username.

Notch wrote:* Weather (rain, snow, thunder)
* Statistics
* Achievements
* Detector rail
* Booster rail
* Performance improvements
More statistics and achievements will be added over time as we develop the game. They’re only stored locally at the moment, but we’ll slowly be rolling out online storing of achievements over time.
Achievements don't work for me, could be a local problem if that's where the data is stored for now.

Cor, it looks as though my lag spike issues have been solved- I can play online again!
Don't do what I just did though - ladders now need to be continuous.
*looks for a way out*

That is awesome. Notch should put it in the game. Makes me think of DF style accidental floods.

So you know that big 'coaster you made that relies on the speedy minecarts bug?
Yeah, sorry.

The powered tracks make cart systems really simple and easy to build, and they take up a lot less room than the boosters.

Which is absolutely no fun.

I am, in general, in favour of the new rails. I enjoyed making the boosters, but they were always a hack. Now we've got travelling sorted, focus can shift to
building awesome automatic mechanisms.
edit:
* Made booster tracks speedier

So, 1.6 this week. Working nether in SMP. Who's excited?

Mildly.
Fire no longer spreads infinitely, apparently.

Incidentally with a small number of players, up to 3 or 4, it's possible to run a Minecraft server over your broadband. Any more the game will lag badly. So if anyone wants to try it I can help out. I'm not so inclined to do it myself as I'm not actively playing.

Alright, who's up for building a cart system between all the portals in the nether (with obsidian walls of course)?
