BSOD on Beef

I don't think my beef has crashed since i installed the latest drivers for my card, which is quite unusual

I'm fairly sure that they can't tell these things*, especially when using atitool (rather than more involved hax) either way, it can be a handy diagnostic trick

I think they can tell if it has run something other than the stock clock speeds, but I'm not sure if they could tell the difference once it's already been overclocked, say at the factory.

Yeah, since you've tried a few different ones, and ruled out overheating, I'd say it's time to RMA the bitch and get it replaced.

I'd say do all of it. Decrease your ram speed, underclock your card, find its the card, RMA it.

(It could be something as silly as its not quite seated properly, but it sounds like you've been in and out the case so thats rather unlikely)

The last couple of days have turned up a problem on my PC too - happens in both Beef and CS:S, usually after about 5 mins of play, although not always. The PC freezes, and creates a horrible high-pitched tone of the ear-bleeding variety. An audio conference with experts has suggested that it's drivers, so I shall do some driver fettling tonight, probably of both the graphics and soundcard variety.

I don't understand why something like this would suddenly break after working fine for ages, when I've not changed anything. Everest claims that it isn't heat because nothing gets excessively hot.

It's Windows.

I had that problem recently.

I solved it by building up a new PC (which is slightly rage inducing now, I curse Windows Update).
