That's how it was in the old games, certainly more what I'm after, cheers.
I'll have to see how much I use ranged attacks to see where best to put it. I was guessing at the defaults, as I always use MOUSE2 for forwards and Z, X for sidestep and kind of build the other keys around that little cluster in the corner.

I do have issue with the Alien controls, it's certainly not as fluid as the originals crouch to crawl over anything method.
Not quite sure why they removed/changed it either.

Shouldn't make any difference, there were some physics in games way back when, just not as verbose as the ones currently available and I was talking more about the actual climbing function itself.
Having to click and hold down for a few seconds per suface transition is no where near as easy or fluent as just holding down (or toggling) a single key and then automatically moving onto that surface.

AVP's MP has a lot of potential from what I've played, the dedicated server is still borked mostly, so that's not great.
The non deathmatch modes all seemed a lot of fun and have potential if more than 3 people turn up
