I think I have a USB modem kicking around somewhere, no drivers for it and no idea if it works though, you want?

Also I ended up with 2 copies of Fallout Collection, anyone care to take it off my hands for £7?

I appreciate the offer, but it's probably less hassle for both of us just to buy one. I'll give BT another chance yet though seeing as I'm not home for two weeks after this weekend.

Screw it, I've ordered a 56k modem anyway for £20. At least I can post here while I'm hassling BT. I'm hoping that if I put an order in every week they'll get sick of me asking and give me a connection. Or maybe take out a restraining order.

I've noticed, hence the three different outcomes from five (so far) different orders. I've heard that they send you a free homehub before they check if you can get a connection, so I'm going to try and get one every time and see how many I can collect.

Build a collection then flog them on ebay, might make enough to pay for an alternative connection.

Are you actually living in MQs on the main camp? have you not investigated the WiFi in the area? Javelin WiFi for £15 a month if you're in range.

narf i'd be surprised if you hadnt investigated that. if you are out of range, maybee somesort of X-BOXHueg antennae bolted to your house, and leech off the station setup

My first Home Hub broke after a week. After spending an hour arguing with some bloke in Mumbai (he claimed it was a fault with the "LAN card" in my PC) I just fucked it off and went back to using my old router. About 3 weeks ago another Home Hub appeared randomly at my door. Useless cunts.

I actually prefer using the router to be honest. The hub seems to lose connection an awful lot, and its really cunted up my sweeping (confession time: I think I may be responsible for breaking the first when I went about port forwarding).

Besides, you don't need Broadbeans for super beardy SLA fun!

Small directional antenna are quite cheap now too, so it really wouldn't cost too much to leech from a car outside someone's house.

Yep, I'm in quarters. I've got the number for Javelin this week, although I tried to find it when I moved in and could only find a BT Homehub, bizarrely. I'll give them a ring and find out what the deal is. I think it runs at about 800k, which isn't too bad.

I can get a decent Skype connection on dialup? That's good at least because I've got about 5 BPNs and half a sourcebook written while I've been working away.

Voice group. Hopefully it won't come to it if I pull off this wireless thing, as I ninja'd in above you. I'll have wasted £20 on a dialup modem, but I suppose it's a useful thing to have around. Failing that I could always run the game by forum or messenger.

Assuming I can get a wireless connection, is there anything special I might need to know about?
