Excellent stuff there. My favourite comment:

"i was going to say trained monkeys? but that would imply some level of training and would be an unfair slight to all the trained monkeys out there"

Am I the only one that thinks that guy is actually pretty offensive to Russians?

I think it's becoming more and more ridiculous as they keep spouting this nonsense. I've noticed that as time goes on the people commenting are increasingly critical of articles like this, while the people agreeing with them are becoming a smaller and smaller minority.

Is it that time of year again Mr Vaz?

Beaten to it. A motion inspired by the utterings of a serial killer with an extremely warped outlook. Well done, Vaz.

Also there's the Virgin Media blocking Pirate Bay. Oh well - http://tpb.pirateparty.org.uk/
It's a shame The Pirate Party don't have a candidate standing in my area, they'd get my vote.

The thing is, I agree with Vaz's basic statement that sale of games should be properly controlled. I just don't trust him to be involved. Or indeed to be involved in politics.

EDIT: Actually, re-reading his statement, I don't agree. He's talking bollocks again.

I don't think controlling them at point of sale is the big issue though, I find places like Game used to be pretty good at asking for ID, same as Argos (I did work there for 6 weeks, they were quite hot on it).
It seems the majority of parents are quite happy to buy 15 and 18 rated titles for kids aged 13. Which is wrong. But it's a perception issue, as I suspect most wouldn't do that with films of the same age rating.

The only way it's going to change is if they add some concessions to the media sale laws like they have for alcohol, where the seller is liable if the "buyer" is buying for an underage person, or make it so the buyer commits and offense by giving it to the underaged person.
