I'm going to be nice and tell you that your fence will be Ongar in Bruma. His house is in the South-west of the town, where he'll be at night. During the day, he's in the Inn by the east gate.

The dude I mentioned above just behind the stables, next to the wall to the left of the city's big bridge has 'em too - he said to me he was there all hours.

Starting out in the thieves guild (as I am) you only get one fence (buyer of stolen stuff) - and the first one is Ongar as Sticky Label says.

To find out stuff about the guild, ask the dude you joined up with, or other thieves about 'Thieves Guild' then you get a bunch of other options to ask about.

I'm usually one of the first people to get bored/find a shiny new toy, so maybe ask me in a week.

For now, though I'm liking it - having not exactly mastered Morrowind, I see it as a shinier version of that, although with far less irritations and more obvious avenues for enjoyable open-ended opportunities. Morrowind overwhelmed me somewhat, this release is giving me more attainable immediate goals and keeping the interest level up.

The singleplayer-ness still freaks me out a bit, though - pausing the game almost feels like cheating, and I have a need to share my in-game experiences (however trivial) with other players on the board 'cos it's just so damn lonely otherwise.

On :above: this note, I found a mother-lovin-ring-of-awesomeness* in the Pale Pass valley, therefore I rule :ninja: and no I don't care if you found it too :finger:

My knight in shiny armour is about to rescue a damsel in distress from the catacombs under the evil town of Hackdirt, those are bad people. Also I now have a firery bow which I use to say a long distance hello to enemies before hacking at them when they get closer.

Plus "I'm gonna get you little fishies" because I've got water breathing spell now, just got to remember where the fish scales bloke is.

I guess this is an Oblivion blog!

Oblogivion, Day 7

After returning to tackle an Oblivion gate that I had found several days earlier (I was escorting some extremely important people at the time on a vital mission for the empire, so I didn't think taking them into Oblivion was a good idea) I entered the gate, only my second so far, I was much less scared as I had some idea of what to expect this time so decided to go exploring. I headed away from the nearest gate and tower and in time came across yet another gate. I was suprised to find 2 gates in close proximity and went through the gate to see where in the real world it was, I appeared on the other side of Cyrodiil in a completly different mountain range!, the laws of time and space sure are weird in Oblivion!. I proceeded to take out this gate and was whisked back to the nice snowy mountains away from the nasty fire.

DOH!!!, my horse is waiting back at the other gate, I guess I have a long walk ahead of me...

I don't know how similar the things people find are, but in the main quests Oblivion Gate outside Anvil, I picked up a Necklace of the Sea; Constant water breathing on self. That's pretty awesome, if you ask me.

That's something I've never seen before. Whereabouts on the map was it? Oh, and using Fast Travel usually makes your horse arrive where you were. Or you could just do it to the other gate, of course...

Well that's what I did but it wasn't really in the spirit of my 'blog' entry

With blood dripping from my sword and my health non-existant I finally vanquished my foe with an enraged blind swipe, I crawled towards the stone to retrieve it and end my hellish experience in Oblivion, in a whirl of bright light I was whisked back to reality, relief washed over me until I slowly realised that I'd re-emerged at the wrong gate, in a different mountain range hundreds of miles from where I started, the gate lay destroyed in front of me, there was no way back through to the other gate where my trusty steed waited patiently, I pressed TAB, clicked on map and fast-travelled to a town where my horse was magically stabled outside the gate. LOL

The first gate I went through exploring was the one near Cloud Ruler Temple, I came out the 2nd one in some mountains further east.

Not wanting to rub it in, I'd say it was just the job if you're going to be without internet for a while.

Ooh, look what I found: SPOILER

edit: That dungeon was very hard, until I worked out using more magic attacks helped, then is was just very tricky. Has anyone else done the missing painter quest in Cheydinhal?

Don't worry, I have a plan - may not be as fast as my current connection but it should work (involves a wireless network card - you know the rest).

Hurrah! My level 19 Dark Elf is now Arch-Mage, head of the mages guild, Grand Champion of the Arena, and now working his way up through the Dark Brotherhood ranks. He has almost a full suit of Orcish armour plus a few fancy enchanted items, and is getting pretty good at the destruction spells. Yay me.

My level 21 Dark Elf got pissed off with bugs and so is not playing much anymore. I continually get soldiers from Bruma attacking me for no reason whatsoever, and then it crashes occasionally. I have stupid amounts of money, and no want for better stuff.
