Ive fogotten how to do combat again :cry:
However, my plan is simple. Kt'rr will be bringing the warbastard to bear on an area that has the largest concentration of doods whilst being a safe enough distance from Smiler that im not *likely* to tag him by mistake. I shall then be trigger locking, untill the crowd thins out a bit.

I'll be letting rip with the KPS Mangler.

After checking as well, I have found it doesnt shoot any less than 3 rounds at a time, and I don't have auto support...

I guess 1 is me bringing to bear on the biggest group. Im guessing, from the map, that would be those on the north-west, as long as I can get a clear enough shot past smiler.

You can specify the target area. The larger it is, the more negatives you get to hit.

I'd ask dour to help, but that's going to take too long.

I will wait for the mob to get about 30m away then toss one of my smoke grenades. Until then I will bring to bear on Smiler and take aim at his face.

A part of me says we try and intimidate them, let them know we're only after the smiler perhaps.
The other part of me covered in skull face-paints says that bullets are an effective means of persuasion.

I wondered why the guy was only shooting single rounds at me...

Well, if the only diffrence is it has a rate of 1/3 i'll shoot into the crowd loaded with shot rounds:

Rifle: 9+10+2 -2 (range)=19 awesome!

9 damage, 7pen 7 AD

don't worry grimmie I'm not going to shoot unless there is a very good reason to. It's mostly just in case shit is going to happen and he needs to be put down.

I'll just bring to bear on the largest group of people that aren't within 3m of Smiler.

I was hoping the carriens would make an entrance from the other side and thin the numbers a bit.

Actually, though - what are the lighting conditions like in here? I may put an illumination orb up in an effort to dazzle the subs (I'm assuming their eyes aren't well adjusted to bright light).

It's lit by several bonfires, so not great. They're nicely silhouetted for you though so no negatives.

Rules on suppressive fire, since you'll be using them a lot here;

Suppressive fire

A character using suppressive fire is firing fully automatic fire against an area or group of targets, locking the trigger for a continuous stream rather than a burst. The firer must declare the area or group they are shooting at and roll to hit as normal. All normal modifiers apply, but the firer recieves no bonus for aiming (so all shots are at -3 for being wild). Additionally, the firer is at a -1 modifier for every meter of target area or meter between targets. If the attack is successful the amount of rounds which hit are worked out using the auto/support skill, with every third point over 10 being a hit, up to the RoF of the weapon. Targets in the area or group will only get hit once, with extra rounds being wasted, but a target entering the area at any point in the phase is an eligable target, making fleeting targets equally at risk.

Suppressive fire is effective on every phase, regardless of whether the firer normally acts. However, on those phases where the firer does not act their weapon skill is not added to the roll.

TSD, I think it was a normal Mangler you had. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Assuming a 3 round spray then, +1 for shot rounds, -4 for long range (not -2), -3 for target running, +2 for rate of fire, -3 for wild shot. Which is 14 total and a hit. With your -3 for unskilled in auto/support though, you only hit one target. He's pretty dead though.

Anything else for 1? If you're spraying and praying I'll let you start blatting off rounds on 1 like Eraser.
