With Azureus I think you only need to open port 6881... but i have been known to be wrong, from time to time.

it depends on the client, some only use one port (6881)

some use 6881 for first torrent, 6882 for second, 6883 for third and so on.

I'm seriously debating it. It said on the site it didn't include any of the expansions, so I'd imagine the quality of the game is only going to be like it first was when it hit the market.

Also, I'm worried about it being a so called gateway drug for me. First I'll play the one that's free for a year, then I'll try something like City of Heroes, then all of a sudden I'm into pure junkie status with Everquest. I don't think my bank account would like that very much. :P

I only ever played everquest once around a friends house. It was shit.

But you see, I'll be too far gone to care if it's shit or not. I'll need to get my fix. Calling trains or eating badgers or whatever the hell it is they say with their savy MMONG lingo.

You could always get yourself some World Of warcraft, that'd be worth it. I'd guess.

Where the fuck is my character?

I was running around like a prick yesterday afternoon not knowing what I was doing, and now I go back to play it, my character doesn't appear on the login page thingy!!!

Where has "Nobjockey" disapeared too?

EDIT : Huzzah, I've recreated him, but how do I save the character so I don't have to start the game all over again?
I think I may need tuition from someone on this whole MMONG thing

Might it be something to do with the logging out procedure? it takes bloomin ages.

Posted: December 19th, 2004, 14:08
by Nickface
Yeah, don't those games have you wait 30 seconds or so to log out so you don't bail in the middle of a fight or anything?

Posted: December 19th, 2004, 16:08
by StickFigureNinja
In "safe" zones you can log out within about 10 seconds, or you used to be ab le to, it's 30 seconds everywhere else. Your character is automatically saved as you go along, but sometimes shit happens and you might lose a tiny bit of work you've done on them. That could of happened with the starting up thing. The only other idea is that they might see the name nobjockey has offensive, but I doubt it.
