I'm with Roman, in that it'll be years till I'd bought either format anyway. Given that I still have a CRT TV (albeit 32") I imagine a TV would come first, and even that'll not be for a while.

Also, there is a chance that HDDVD is just pining.

Interestingly enough we've recently had a proposal at work for using Blu-Ray as a media storage solution, so it looks they're going for the commercial side of things as well as consumer.
