I got Edge today and it only got a 7/10, which surprised me. The reviewer seemed to prefer the Star Wars based KOTOR, which I didn't really like.

Best FPS
COD. Like others I'm torn between COD and TEEF, but COD get's the nod (ha).
Best RTS
Titty Quest:Immortal boner.
Best MMO/RPG
The Witcher. I had no idea when I started this how long and involving it would be, I raced through chaperts 1 and 2, spent ages on 3, ages on 4, then noticed there's 7 and I'm nowhere near the end.
Best Single player.
Portal. Simple choice for me really, I'd say it borders on rpg because of the level of involvement I put in, despite the lack of actual levelling or shiny bastard sword +1 vs hobbits.
Best Multi Player.
COD, think this will go on for a very long time. I've even bothered to buy a copy!
Most 5punky Game.
TEEF. This is tough, Portal made us all go mental, but it's just the occasional, caek! and omfg! the credit music are winzor! So I'm saying TEEF, because despite the recent hype of COD, we have more lolz over ts when playing TEEF, it's almost impossible to get the rage with TEEF.
5punk Game of the Year.
COD:Modern Cod. Has no baths, but has provided a game that I see as lasting a good few years, unless we all get the apparent pacific theatre set cod5 that's due at some point.

Re: 5punk Game of the year awards.
As these awards mean fuck all, I'm going to vote for as many as I feel like in each category...
Best FPS.
STALKER:SoC
Bioshock
Best RTS.
N/A - Don't play them much and don't know what's been released this year. Supreme Commander looked pretty good, never got into it though.
Best MMO/RPG.
The Witcher on PC
Twilight Princess on Wii
Phantom Hourglass on DS
Rune Factory on DS
Best Single player.
Mario Galaxy
Portal
Best Multi Player.
Teef probably, most manic and fun
Most 5punky Game.
Teef again
5punk Game of the Year.
If it means game most raved about then it's got to be CoD 4, but I remember hype levels being off the scale when Bioshock was coming.

Re: 5punk Game of the year awards.
Best FPS.
Portal being more puzzle game than straight shooter, and both Ep2 and CoD4's SP having annoying sections, this goes to the game I enjoyed from start to finish in all of its modes: Bioshock
Best RTS.
Dark Crusade was released too early to qualify (Nov 06), I felt World in Conflict felt too much like C&C 3 - and I never got into that. Never really got into Supreme Commander, but it wins for the single marathon 5punk match I played in which I did nothing for ages and just saved up about six nukes.
Best MMO/RPG.
While Eve Trinity was released this year, and the new ships look very nice, it's not enough of an upgrade from my perpective to be a new game, in that any new game content isn't neccesarily available to all - compare Guild Wars' Nightfall with its Eye of the North expansions. The best all-new MMO has to be Lord of the Rings Online.
On the RPG side I'd like to mention Pokémon Pearl and Blue Dragon, but I haven't given them nearly enough play time.
Best Single player.
From the moment I saw the preview video, a WTF free game bundled with two titles I'd really been looking forward to was destined to become the greatest gaming experience. Ever. Portal.
Best Multi Player.
Since I can disregard its SP annoyances in this category, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare gets my vote.
Most 5punky Game.
You have to work as a team. You need to help other team members and get rewarded for doing so. Even when you die, you laugh. It looks like nothing else around, with impeccable character design that for the first time has you actually noticing what other players look like. Other games: YOU FAIL! Team Fortress 2 wins.
5punk Game of the Year.
Difficult to call, Portal, CoD4 and TeeF are the main contenders, and so I'll use a completely arbitrary and random way to decide:
Which would benefit most from additional quality maps?
CoD would do well, another onewiththrerailings or and AIDS cannon would be fun, but not actually bring much new in terms of gameplay. Of the three though, it would be less reliant on map quality.
TeeF would do better, as the maps dictate the gameplay and strategy - they'd have to be good ones - but I'd love to see some of the old ones reimagined.
Portal with new maps:

So Portal takes it. No other game has been as inclusive - people who don't normally do shooty-face games have been entranced by it - and no other game has had the same impact with icons, avatars and sprays of caeks and cubes. And not just on 5punk.

Best FPS.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R - for from perfect but I thought it had a good atmosphere, plenty to do and tried to be a little different from the usual British/US army-vs- the world fare.
Best RTS.
No idea - ask me one on sport.
Best MMO/RPG.
I see these as different categories. Sure, there are grey areas where the two cross. However, most are sufficiently different to warrant their own awards.
Lord of the Rings Online takes the MMO award. A superb realisation of Middle Earth. It's obvious lots of time and effort have gone into it.
The Witcher takes the RPG award. I got three weeks of very heavy play out of it. Like STALKER, it has it's faults but it was very enjoyable from beginning to end. Loads to do, fairly non-linear and SEX!
Best Single player.
Portal. 'Nuff said.
Best Multi Player.
CoD is OK but it's really not my type of game (and yes, LOL, I'm shite at it) so TEEF gets my vote. Like NoLF multi-player should have been.
Most 5punky Game.
Portal was very 5punky, in that appealed to most of us but I think the multi-player silliness+TS makes TEEF my winner here.
5punk Game of the Year.
I enjoyed The Witcher and Portal in equal amounts. However, Portal is a fucking master-class in making a great game.

Gonna give this thread until friday, just in case some of you lazy fucks want to vote or change your votes.
If you've voted for more than one game in a section, I'll only count the first.
Remember, games released as a standalone (ie. no expansion packs) in 2007 are valid. anything else won't be counted.
Zelda:TP will be counted, as discussed before.
Some time on friday I'll sober up a bit and count stuff up, get DP to check my maths over, then magic will be done.

Re: 5punk Game of the year awards.
I can only really submit games I know, so please don't throw an angry badger for me for nominating something that seems way off.
Best FPS.
Team Fortress 2 - Due to the unique style of gameplay and the high replay value.
Best RTS.
Supreme Commander - Though I played C&C about 10,000 times more than SupCom, I found SupCom to be more expansive and intnese.
Best MMO/RPG.
<strike>Hellgate: London (It's really the only one I've played this year)</strike> Zelda: Twilight Princess (just now saw that is was allowed).
Best Single player.
Portal (Need I say more?)
Best Multi Player.
Team Fortress 2
Most 5punky Game.
Team Fortress 2 - There has been a lot of wacky interaction and humor involved with our playing, and this is the best thing for me to nominate as I don't have CoD4 (yet.)

Team Fortress 2
Best FPS.
Ship Simulator 2008.
It's an FPS because it allows you to have first person views and you shoot water as a means of propulsion
Best RTS.
Ship Simulator 2008
It involves strategy and it's in real time.
Best MMO/RPG.
Lucinda Green's Equestrian Challenge
Fucking win. Make horses. Ride horses. Feel like a compass point.
Best Single player.
Ship Simulator 2008.
Pure fucking thrill
Best Multi Player.
TEEEF
Enough said, really
Most 5punky Game.
TEEEEEF
So much lighthearted fun to be had
5punk Game of the Year.
Ship simulator 2008
Exciting, beautiful and better than being hocked up on goofballs.
