how about this one?
Thats a socket 775 mobo, the pentium 4s that used rambus ram were socket 428 or something so it won't work with your current processor.

I'd reccomend just waiting for a full new PC, there's nothing you can really upgrade in your current PC for cheap to make it significantly better. The specs I mentioned before should last a while for about £600.

bugger. :(

looked like too much work to end up with a half arsed solution anyway. :ignore: Will wait till the xmas season is over and I have some monies to drop on a new one.

After defrag and cleanout the HDD, it seems to be running both HL2 and Teef betterer now. Still not silky smooth and some of the HL2 load times seem too long but definitely playable. should be good for next wednesday.
