I am tempted to have a go at 360 online gaming with Gears of War and Ghost Recon. The boys over at consolevania forums organise regular games. But I know from experience that it's not as good as online PC gaming, also I'm pretty good at online PC shooting games now and I don't want to start at the bottom again. And then there's the under-age smacktards that populate console game servers, they're much worse/prevalent on consoles games.
Before anyone says anything, yes a control pad is not as good as mouse and keyboard combo but once you get used to it it's workable.
BEEF is my favourite game of the year, hands down. I played it first on 19 feb 2006, so I reckon that counts for me. Failing that, I'll have to go with Oblivion I think. Only played it through the once so far, but I still pick it up from time to time.
However, I'd echo WEY's sentiments that its 5punk that keeps me gaming as much as I do. That said, I'm trying to buy a PS2 at the mo. I'm always at the cutting edge of technology!
Also, it says "eve" in your berk quote.

Not all of them. Just Hulk.
Saying that, plenty of non-EVE players are raving loonies too. *looks at Berk*
On a more 'on topic' note; although I certainly wouldnt have stopped playing games, its 5punk that has kept me playing online games. I would have long ago abandoned such things for the offline glory of Oblivion, NWN2, Hitman or Rome otherwise.
As for the vote, I went for Hitman. Its an awsome game. Was torn between that and NWN2, but NWN2 hasnt grabbed me to quite the same degree. And although I was slathering over Oblivion initially, I found it got kinda repetitive after a fairly short time.
I haven't played oblivion, but I suspect that even if I had, HL2: Episode 1 would still get my vote. Discounting Oblivion, my second choice would have to be a toss up between Dreamfall and NWN2, probably going to Dreamfall, because NWN2 was too fucking buggy, never ran with the 1.2 and 1.3 patches and became waaaaay too beardy for me to understand a lot of it (I'm staring at you, alchemy system).
The others:
Battlefield 2142 - BF2 plus? The maps don't really do it for me, and titan mode is lacking.
Company of Heroes - Ruined by on-rails missions.
Neverwinter Nights 2 - Only slightly better than NWN1. Which is Not Good Enough.
Dreamfall: The Longest Journey - Apart from Wonkers, this was flat and at times tedious.
Prey - Zomg, Portal! Zomg, upside down! Zo--... oh.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Dark Crusade - Choose Necron. Win. The end.
Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth - the what now?
Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle-earth II - don't know, possible broomer
Splinter Cell Double Agent - I've hated the Sphincter Cell games in ever-increasing increments - does this one follow my law?
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter - Urban combat with epileptic squadmates. Sound like fun? It isn't.
DEFCON - que?
Hitman: Blood Money - Don't know, console conversions worry me.
Dark Messiah of Might and Magic - It. Might. Be. Alright. If. It. Would. Run. On. My. PC. Actually, no - the demo seems to be the best part.

Actually not. I thought this to start with, and was adamant that it was true. I then discovered that I had been playing tau completely wrong, and they can chew necron apart like little paper bags full of green. I still think necron are at a *slight* disadvantage, but not to the stage where they definately get you the win.
Heh, didnt even realise it *was* a console conversion. Certainly doesnt feel like one. If you played any of the other hitman games and even slightly liked them I would give this one a go, its easily the best in the series. No fucking stupid Rambo moments, for example.

this
I managed to get the demo to work for about 5 mins before my computer threatened to pack its bags and leave the country.
I went for Oblivion mainly because I got the most game time out of it, there was lots of variety and, well, it was just ace.
HL2 ep 1 was also good, but it wasn't terribly different and I don't think I've played through it since.
Other thoughts:
Prey - so meh as to be offensive. So you've got portals, what else do you do? What nothing? Well fuck off then! Think I played it for an hour and got bored.
NWN2 - maybe I picked up a different game from other people, but I found it to be buggy, shite camera angles, very limited dialogue and frustratingly average.

Yay! Wonkers!

I'm going to attack this again when I've done an overhaul on my PC, which should be very soon.
