Heh, not really. I'm not nearly so angry about it as my post might suggest. I had a lot of fun referencing all the dire adverts I could think of, so apart from the fact I find EA's greed unpalatable, I'm really railing against crap or annoying adverts you can do nothing to avoid.
I'm perhaps, in honesty, even more fickle, in that I never research or particularly take note of a companies supposed "wrongdoings" (OCUK), but base buying decisions on whether or not they've pissed me off personally recently. Like any company that dares to advertise during the commercial breaks in F1.
Edit: or (infact) OCUK who have sent the most wankbag case imaginable instead of the one we ordered for my Dad's PC and don't stock the one we wanted anymore.

take a shit inside the case and send it back with a note saying 'this is how we feel you treated us'.
on the advertising argument, i couldnt give a shit because, lets face it, games have been using advertising for years. theres always been a sly advert for another game or a certain brand of mobile phone floating about since i can remember. granted EA have taken it to a new level, but i doubt they will be the last developers to try this.
personaly though, im not buying it because the game looks like bollocks

I decided when it was first mentioned that I wasn't going to buy it, because I had quit BF2 and I didn't want to regain "TEH R4GE!"

There arent any real adverts in BF 2142, yet, just placeholders. Here's some screenshots of the billboards where I imagine the ads will go, along with the enormous gun I got with my pre-order:

I bet theyre just collecting data for now to see how much they should charge for different billboards.

Maybe I should join an empty server, point my soldier at a remote ad banner, put the game in the background and leave it for hours. That might mess up their stats a bit.
Here's another shot of a potential ad placement, with a smaller weapon for comparison:
