Scampi and Gulliver scared me.
What?! Yoffy is clearly the most evil and terrifying being ever created!
He looks pretty scary, but he came across as really nice.
He was just softening you up for a bumming.

fatherjack - sounds like a complete motherboard wipeout to me. if you have a spare motherboard that matches your components - then try it. seeing as the mose problem, graphics card AND ram are all main parts of the mobo (sounds kinda silly as everything is connected to the motherboard) and i also had the problem of my cursor dissapearing when i had my 865PERL, upgraded and all is fine.

pixie pie - i also have the same problem when windows boots, my mouse doesnt function. its wireless labtec though, and what works for me is that i dont press any of the buttins ormove the mouse when my computer is booting, otherwise it takes me a restart or two to get it working.

You may have a point, as the BIOS battery on this one has gone, I've been meaning to replace it. It's only an inconvenience when there's a power cut, but I had forgotten about it.

Me and my big mouth.

Just had a (very brief) power cut. Bizarrely it fixed pro-belm 1 (the 'press F4' not the message or the actual error)

just thinking, do you have a surge protector on your pc? if you have frequent power outs it might be a good idea to get one

consider picking a cheap UPS up too, it'll give you long enough to shut down safely, and will help regulate the power better than a surge protector.

I had a quite expensive UPS, which caught fire. I wouldn't leave one plugged in all the time after that, which kind of defeats the purpose. I'm sure it was one-off and possibly due to it's age, but finding my room full of (very) acrid smoke in the morning was rather a scare.
