I asked a serious question, as I've not seen many people playing eve on xfire recently.

If I were to do it to troll, I'd've posted in the eve forum and been insulting.


In short, as far as 5punk goes, I've concluded that eve is almost certainly pining for the fjords, as there's only a few 5punkers playing any more, and you're sure as fuck not one of them.

I think 5punkorp may be dying, there's more and more people I don't recognise (or see on the forums) than there are "real" 5punkers playing, but amongst these people the 5punky attitude is still there, so there's life in it yet I guess.

I don't understand why you'll forgive people just about anything except playing eve. I'm sorry that you don't like it but beyond that sorrow i really don't care, because you have the right to not like it, just as I have the right to. This extends to all 5punkers, I believe.

In the last year, more people have been brought to this community through Friz's efforts than through the direct efforts of any other individual here, I would hazard. Now it may be true that some of them (some) may not share your idea of 5punkiness, but the very fact of the 5punky nature is flexible to be sure so I don't get that either.

because every other fucker on 5punk tries to join in with the rest of us to some level, that's nothing to do with anything but the mentality of the eve players who don't join in.

eve seems to be wholly self contained within 5punk, which really isn't a good thing.

also, I have no issues with eve itself, I quite enjoy the game, but it's not for me.

Who cares if some of the Eve guys don't venture outside the Eve forum? It's not detrimental to anybody else, and many those who do are valuable contributors (as valuable as any other 5punker at any rate). I'd rather have the Eve forum down there than have it on another site and lose the guys who do post in other sections.

There's nothing wrong with it at all, it just seems a little weird.

I always wonder if there's a lot of incest going on down there or something, would explain a lot.

I still Eve. As I said, I just don't have XFire turned on because it fucks with the memory when running more than 2 accounts, hence no hours logged.

Only real issue I have, is since when did we give a shit if people become fully involved 5punkers or not? WE ARE NOT A CLAN!

Besides, your attitude suggests that you'd rather not have the Eve players on this forum at all. Believe it or not, I'm a member of 5 different forums related to Eve. I choose to hang out on 5punk because I rather like the community and the people here, even though I rarely if ever play anything other than Eve.

If you'd prefer the 'non-5punky' or should I say, non-forum whoring Eve-only playing 5punkorp members who signed up to this forum to get corp info and not necessarily to feel forced into being a fully fledged '5punker' per se then I can arrange another place to put the Eve related stuff. If that makes you happy.

Or would it be better than we kept them coming here, on the off chance that from time to time we may get one who actually likes what they see and does get involved?

When I see something that's interesting to me, or I can talk about without sounding like a n00b, I'll join in the convo, but since my PC wont run most of the newer games, and I have no interst in squad based multiplayer FPS I really have nothing to contribute. Now get another thread going about anime, or the new Final Fantasy XI expansion comming out and I'm there.

With all that said, I do thank everyone who has helped when I had PC problems.
