It helps to jump up and down. They tend to get stuck in orbit.

Woo Hoo, thanks!

I've got the afternoon 'working' from home to wait for phone man to fix things so hopefully I can log on and 'work' on RO-BO later

I've been scribbling away trying to create a decent mall that would present a good challenge to clear of zombies.
So far, it will be 100x100 blocks square will require; 17600 bricks, thats 4400 brick blocks.
144 ingots of Iron for 24 doors
248 panes of glass (93 blocks of glass)
10000 blocks of stone - not cobble

Some of that is a bit steep but I think we can mine it, the clay bricks may have to be Op spawned, there is no way we can find that much clay. So, anyone know a good spot that has 100 sq space and is relatively flat?

There's a load of flat space inbetween me and the spawn, but it's probably a bit too wet, I just found a big desert that looked quite flat. I'll investigate further.

There's a big desert beyond my mine, should be easily flattenable (there is an amount of clay about, but I doubt any where near the quantities needed!)

If I may offer this as a suggestion:

The spawn :P

If nothing else to properly fuck with people who come in

That would be good but the area is hilly, watery and baliamey.
I had a go on the sky train to your mine, I did a little sick in my mouth at the end :likesitall: that desert just a little bit further along looks like a good spot to put the Mall, looks big enough and we have pretty much everything we need to build (apart from the shockingly large quantities of clay) I will see if I can get an outline put down today.

**EDITZ**
Just as soon as I can find a way down off this sky train...
and it's daylight again...

OK here is a 3d view of one corner of the building, each corner is exactly the same, so each corner on either side will be exactly the same - which means that we should end up with entrances to each compass point

Why worry about brick (clay) availability, or for that matter smooth stone from the get-go? We could build the skeleton out of cobble then clad/embellish it later when we get the mats. It'll be all the better for not cheatering.

Also, is it Caiger or Monroeville Mall? Caiger would be easier as we can just make it up, whereas modelling something that looks like the real Monroeville (did) could be difficult.

The only cheating that is happening was for the bricks - the massive amout of clay required would be impossible. However thats done, everything else will be mined, searched and farmed.
I did consider recreating Monroeville Mall but its friggin huge so I went with Caiger instead, which is why its a huge square, though I did try and seperate the four blocks inside. I need to get those plans up too.

I need to get myself back into Minecrack, I haven't even checked out the server properly yet.

I'm going to redirect the rail track so it defaults to the mall rather than to my place. I've also found a bit more to my mine that's nearby so should be able to rape it for materials :)

Oh, and the descent to the mall will be a straight line rather than my favoured corkscrew as some of you lot seem to be gentle souls :P

I prefered the Monroeville mall. You only really need to get the entrance and one of the halls right to look like the film, and it looks like the outside is yellow, which means we could use sandstone rather than brick. Also, a bit fancier would be more impressive and more of an achievement. Look as Jissengard for an example of how much work half a dozen pissed 5punkers can put in in a night.
