Re: Minecraft
Have the Minecraft login servers keeled over?
No, but it should probably help if I update Minecraft.exe once in a while and not run a year old version

Re: Minecraft
The Spleef arena has suddenly become much more of a crowd sport with the colonisation of the lowest level by a number of octopuses.
Re: Minecraft
Yay! That makes it more fun. Tezz, did you get that picture from last night of us posing with the Creeper?
Re: Minecraft
Gah that reminds me i forgot to save the screenshot of grimmie spleefing with a creeper, was anyone else in the arena at the time to nab one?Dog Pants wrote:Yay! That makes it more fun. Tezz, did you get that picture from last night of us posing with the Creeper?

Re: Minecraft
Minecraft wiki says it's a "knock out blocks from under your opponent" game. Which is hugely disappointing as it sounds very much ruder.Dr. kitteny berk wrote:.... spleefing?
Also in SP I assume it generates the same town for everyone if they use the same seed number. Anyone found any interesting ones? 666 gives a little village right in front of you with a nice stone tower and some gardens in.

Re: Minecraft
For reference, if you're building something underwater follow these steps:
1) Work out what you want the inner dimensions to be.
2) Make a couple of small air chambers around the location so you don't have to keep surfacing
3) Fill in that inner space with dirt/sand/leaf filler blocks
4) Place glass around inner shape apart from a a 2 high block of sand/dirt where glass should be on the bottom level.
5) Make entrance/tunnel to this point.
6) Make sure tunnel is dry.
7) Break through, tunnel upwards through inner filler material making sure not to go through glass
Marvel at your easily cleared glass dome.
Don't do what Grimmie and Tezz have done and make the glass dome first because it's a pain in the arse to empty it of water when underwater. Especially if Grimmie's been around knocking holes in it.

Re: Minecraft
To be fair, you didn't ask me how to empty it until after you'd built it. Poor project management skills there GrimmieGrimmie wrote:Thanks for telling me that after you watched me put the bloody roof on first

Re: Minecraft
The server is having a bit of a flap since my Internet broke and I restarted it. Hopefully the world isn't lost or anything else bad, but it will be down a bit, at least.
Re: Minecraft
I presume Minecraft will be played quite a bit once 1.8 is fully here, and especially after the full release. Is it worth renting out a Multiplay server again? I'll gladly chip in.
Re: Minecraft
Back and not complaining too much.
If there's interest in a real server I don't mind managing it, if active players chip in for the cost. Multiplay lets you pay for some months up-front: http://www.multiplaygameservers.com/gam ... minecraft/
(Probably can get away with only 600MB of memory with 10 or less players)

Re: Minecraft
I don't seem to be able to hit any blocks. I'm sure this could be fixed, I just don't remember how.
Re: Minecraft
1.8 is here now isn't it? Or do you mean NPCs etc? I think they budged that back to 1.9.WereRabbit wrote:I presume Minecraft will be played quite a bit once 1.8 is fully here, and especially after the full release. Is it worth renting out a Multiplay server again? I'll gladly chip in.
Re: Minecraft
Well I heard it was coming in two parts, with NPCs in the second bit, hence the "fully". I guess that was abandoned with the leak.
