If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

Bluetooth headsets

Post by deject »

Right. I know a few of you have been wanting a wireless headset. I've recently bought this for my phone, and it's great. I'll be getting a bluetooth adapter for my PC soon so I'll let you guys know if it will be suitable. I know it should definitely work for sound out, but I'm not so sure if it will be able to use the stereo sound and the mic at the same time yet.

The photos suggest this headset is for women only. I use only manly headsets, powered by testosteronium batteries.

I've tried at various times to get my phone blootoof headset working on my windows PC.
Heres my experience, you milage may vary.

i) standard XP SP2 blootoof drivers - no go, don't seem to support audio headsets.
ii) http://www.bluesoleil.com/ do support audio. couple of years ago when I last checked, they didn't sell to plebs, only to manufacturers and so could only use a trial version with no recourse. A quick scan shows that they might have changed this policy.
iii) Fista blootoof drivers - they've half fixed it, my experience so far leads me to believe you have to go through the whole discovery process for it to work, no switch on and go.

I'd love to hear how you get on deject.

From what I've read, your success depends on the drivers that come with your Bluetooth adapter. I've read people claiming they can get stereo music working fine, but I don't know about stereo + mic, which is the big question.
