Incentives

Post by friznit »

Normally I would float these sort of questions and ideas to the directors first, but for a change I'm going to throw it open to everyone straight away. See what we can come up with 8)

What can we do to encourage people to:

A. Make ISK for the corp
B. Come PvPing with the corp and/or alliance

________________

My random ideas:

Offer prizes for various achievements. E.g. 50mill isk for most kills on the KB in a month; present a shiny ship/module for a conspicious industrial achievements or extraordinary act of madness in PvP.

Open a Shiny Modules Hangar(s) - one for the PvPers, another for the Industrialists. You only get access if you are considered by the Directors to be active, enterprising and consistant in either discipline. If you go inactive for a period you lose access again. Hangars could contain T2 modules, ammo and ships all funded by the corp.

Ofc, the downside to all this is the need for funding. The corp isn't making any isk other than a small tax income at the moment. NR income is slow, mainly because our big time miners are all away at the moment.

Then again, do we need to? Will incentives actually make any difference or are people pretty much set in their ways and not interested regardless of what is offered? What do the rest of you think of our activity levels at the moment?

I for one find my current play level absolutely unacceptable! ofc it's RL that's the problem more than anything in Eve, I'd love to be flying about w/ my Myrm and T2 Heavies hurting WT's in Empire for fun and salvage, but I have to be able to fly reliably, and won't have the capability until FRIDAY, when they come and hook up my interwebs on a hardline basis!

Hopefully some production work can help us with the iskies to offer incentives. Simple ammo and drone sell orders in low sec should help, along w/ some T2 flipping while we pick up the incentive bits. That way Nakah will have something to sell to the people not active enough in the corp to qualify for incentives, as well as having incentives in the hangar for those that do qualify. Please PM me with anything you'd like to see in incentives so I can track it and find a supply.

Hopefully by the weekend Dres will be back in space to at least conduct some logistic work, if I can get a scout, or perhaps I can contract to our freighter alt types too. Feck, I've been out so long I'll need to check insurance on ships before undocking!

I don't think incentives are a bad idea, but perhaps just looted bits could be saved as well. Loot salvaging is profitable at times!

Dolly, how would you feel about building rigs as incentives? Or perhaps to sell for corp profit to buy them?

rigs are good money but little slow at the moment - i.e. war

i have no problems making rigs for corp but i ask this where is corp getting rig components?

1) mission runners/ratting
- half the time i'm in it for the isk/LP so i'll just rip them and bru follows me collecting. been more of a mutual gain since he gets bounties while salvaging and we split the components - so here i ask what incentives would the players doing the work get? they're already getting the isk when selling them, but we are both enablers so if corp can benefit all for it. just don't think we're TOBY we're kunte kinte and don't u forget it :)

2) pvp
- doesn't lyrus get all the salvage i.e. Lyrus RIGS so unless we get some too not sure how that will contribute

3) buy orders
- this is a can do method of building and selling for corp - i see we need market skilled people for this and maybe another google spreadsheet of doom

i already own the most popular rigs and some are researched too. we'll just say every T1 rig bpo i own. tonight if things are mellow i'll jump on vent and we'll figure out a course of action.

at work so go to go

Bru and I did some more mission/loot/salvage last night as we always do. Lets say we do this what rigs to sell/produce for corp? I normally build ccc, cargo, gravity. propulsion, weight reduction - they sell super fast. Some of the resists ones sell but not as fast or as much.

I have to say that while Morrill is somewhat inactive i still consider myself a 5punker. Kasanyon and Jack are mine as well. I like goals. While RL and running the POS with Brubecks alts take a lot of my time having a challenge to work for are always things that motivate me. I'm usually up for industrial type stuff. Kasanyon may be able to help with NR if I knew the specifics. Kinda need her though for the big orders that come through for research.

As to the goal portion though i like the idea of payout for the most kill and such. I think more then the isk it set a goal with incentive which always creates a sense of value or worth.

That's a very good point Morrill, and one I agree with fully. While we finally have a clear PvP goal in the Alliance/Corp now (Killing UCE), it's a good time to nail down some industrial goals for us to work towards (alongside NR perhaps). I've updated the NR Thread on the Alliance forum to clear up a few points. Worth re-reading if you havn't already.

Industrial targets that we have ongoing:

5punkorp Ship Replacement Programme - keeping our PvPers in bs's
5punkorp Expendables - frigs, cruisers and T1 mods for everyone to blow up

NR Fuel Fund (one for NR only) - maintain 300mill in the pot for POS fuel
NR Ice Fuels Contract - 750k Helium, 500k HW, 500k LO, Lots of Stront per month on sale to MC

Some other Ideas:

Aim to make 1 bill isk for the corp wallet by various means
Build a carrier/dread/freighter to sell (perhaps with help from Lyrus)
Build cap ship(s) for corp members that need them e.g. Morill's dread

The industrial targets should complement the PvP goal wherever possible. What other idea have people got?
