i managed to squeeze on 18 songs, which comes in at 79 minutes and 30 seconds, just enough to fit on a cd. i've stuck in a lot of bands that most people haven't heard of that i like and some ones people should have heard of just to keep them interested

UK law covers copying for mates etc.

not to mention that in the UK blank cds and such are taxed to cover piracy and that you're not profiting from it.

basically, not a problem :D

this is did not know. i might just have to do this ive got a couple of thousand mp3s that will go to waste if not. i mean a cd costs what, 10p or somthing? probably less

yup, it was a big thing when Cassette recorders and VCRs started to exist.

basically we pay a little extra that potentially gets passed on to record companies and suchlike to cover our sins.

thats why kazaa and limewire weren't getting shut down, because you were using it to "share" music which is legal.
besides a lot of record companys are now seeing the benefits of "word of mouth". there are quite a few small-time record companies that encourage trading cd-r's of bands because you're more likley to go out and buy the cd than if you've never heard of it

I used to "aquire" music, but then it became almost an obsession to get everything, even if it was utter shit.

Now that you can buy a brand new album for £9.77 I'm starting to buy albums again (only the ones I really want).

Basically it all comes down to pricing, and I don't give a shit what anyone says, charging nearly £15 for an album for nearly 4 years was a fucking disgrace, and now they've dropped the prices of albums on CD, the record industry has had huge profits!

What a fucking shock!!! It's amazing to think more people buy CD's when they drop the price

P.S. If you want to buy a CD cheaply in the U.K. then go to Safeway, and avoid HMV/Virgin

just checked, of the stuff i listen to regularly, there's 3300 tracks.

all of my crap works out at 5500 odd tracks.

that's a lot of money, even at a cheap tenner an album

if it weren't for the net i'd have something like 2 cd's because i really dont want to buy a cd unless i hear it 1st, also if it wasn't for downloading i would of actually bought the darkness album before using it as a coaster rather than downloading it and complaining about the waste of a cd-r.

most shockingly priced cd i have ever bought was machine head: through the ashes of empires for an entire £18 (thats with no bounus cd's or dvds)!
