If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

windows logon screen

Post by northwesten »

OK this just pissed me off now. Everytime i turn the computer on it goes to the wwelcome screen. instead just loading windows up and straight to desk top. So i changed it and remove welcome screen so it goes to classic logon screen instead. Now how on earth do you change it to miss the logon screen and just go straight to desktop?

Also now when i Del + Ctrl + Alt it goes to the screen with task manager, shut down, and other stuff instead of going to task manager. How do i stop this from happening?

This annoyed me and didnt want this to change dammit :/

That's what Ctrl-Alt-Del is meant to do. Try using Ctrl-Shift-Esc instead.

IIRC, That's Fista, and it isn't in the Run... box, but the sort of Help Searchy box just above the "Start" button.

Unless that was the administrator account or you were starting in one of the diagnostic modes, you might want to get your machine scanned for malware and trojans etc pronto

Or the ASP.Net account which XP sometimes makes.

But yes, a malware scan is always a good idea.

Fix'd, as per the article I linked to way up there :above:. The space makes a big difference.
It's not a Fista-only thing.

What fabyak said but some pieces of software (particularly interweb and FTP servers) create extra user accounts, in which case they're harmless (and should probably be left alone).

No, and as far as I know they don't actually have "interactive use"-type privileges.

edit: at least they damn well shouldn't have.

That may not help if he's on a domain and the network administrator hasn't completely fucked up.

adaware is your friend :)

the basic version is free (and does not have restrictions on it, you just can't do as fancy stuff as with the full version)
