RSS questions.

Post by cheeseandham »

i) Is there any way to remove the Newsfeed posts from my view in "View posts since last visit"? I have my own RSS aggregation (some of it from the same feeds too) so I have to pick out the "real" posts when I visit.

ii) Is there an RSS feed for new posts that I'm missing? I'd love it if 5punk posts came up in my RSS aggregator(s) alongside other stuff.

Thanks for any help on this. :likesitall:

I) Not as far as I'm aware, although maybe there's an ignore user function that could be added on to PHPBB. That's Stoat's domain though.

II) This could be good. The 'view posts since last visit' option isn't perfect, and I've never been completely happy with it, but Stoat assures it's teh best way without massive amounts of effort.

I've been wondering about that myself. It'd be easy to do if we didn't want it to show up for anyone. We'd have to put that to the vote though, I reckon.

Did I? The Front-page has a topic grabber that could easily be transformed in to a Latest Posts RSS.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear, reading it again. I meant an alternative to the posts since last visit. I don't know about RSS.

I notice there is one there now on the front page. Was there one before? If not that "Wow, thanks quick work"

Nice, and I will use it, I'm really after a "View posts since last visit" RSS (without Newsreader :) )

I know, I'm a fussy knob jockey.

For anyone wondering what we're talking about - News feeds for n00bs

This is a feed I made a while ago, but it only displays new posts, and doesn't felcher out the newfeeds

http://www.5punk.co.uk/rss.php

The main website also seems to duplicate the 5cheduler & Radio feeds due to the way it includes the forum on the main site, but I think they all work either way.

There is a way of configuring the new posts feed to only pull posts from certain forums, but I'm buggered if I can remember how to do it
