All of the above.

It tooks ages for the PC I was using to render the PDFs, but I didn't want to hold up the printer at work, just a quick print and go when no-one's looking, so I "printed" them as .MDIs, but then I thought I'd OCR them so I could print them out in Word, with just the text and they'd be smaller, but it didn't work very well and messed up the tables, so I haven't printed them out yet and I can't tonight because I have to leave early as my car is in the garage.

In short, I haven't read a single word of the source books.

I've not read the source either (I'd forgotten), but hopefully I'll pick it up with the help of the spreadsheet. I've played Shadowrun a bit before so hopefully it won't be too hard to pick up. I'll give it a bash tonight and Gaz you if I need help.

Shit, is it tonight already? I've been writing my BPN until now and then I'm going to play BEEF for a bit. I'll get onto it tomorrow morning.

Count my beard in :beard:

I'll probably give the character creation a go myself.

Right, character creation sheet and guide are done and uploaded.

Character sheet

Guide

Neither of those really cover magic or decker characters that much, because they are both kinda complicated. If any of you wants to make one of those characters, thats fine, but it would be easier done with me helping in person, over skype or some such.

EDIT:DP pointed out that skill groups were not included on the character sheet. They are in this one

Woo! I've got my character sorted (Human Face) and I've made a nice Excel version of the character sheet if anyone wants it. The one Joose made is designed for creating characters (mine doesn't do all the posh maths) so I've made one that looks like the character sheet. Joose, I'll Gaz you both when you get back.

I've created a basic magic character too, just because I quite enjoy creating characters in Shadowrun it would appear. Wasn't too hard. I made a combat mage adept, so I got chance to see how both bits work and it's just like normal character creation but with a couple of extra bits. Probably easier to create a normal test character first so you can get the hang of the basics though.

Anyone else get anything? I'm getting quite enthusiastic about this now.

Deej has made a combat mage. He's quite swanky (now he doesnt have to rely on one comabt spell that would blow the top of his head off if he tried to use it  ).

Ive noticed, though, that for some reason the character sheet i have seems to have lost the change I made to it to fix the money calculation. It doesnt limit the amount of BP you put in to starting gear (should be capped at 50BP), and doesnt actually take away the amount you are spending on gear from the money you have got from BP. I'll update it to fix this, anyone who has started making a character should be able to copy-past into the fixed version with little/no pain.

Hmmm. The version I'm using spacks out over a certain amount of starting cash, which may be the limit thing. It seems to take the money from gear cash fine though.

*prods to keep the idea going*

So who's made a character so far? I have, and Dog Pants has one. I think Joose mentioned Roman had made one but I don't remember if he said it was finished or not.

*Prods too*

I reckon I'm able to help people out with their characters if they need help making it. I ought to write a bit of background for mine too seeing as the game sets itself up for it so well.

I'm just finishing off my character, Big Chopper. He's a Blade Adept, with Blade Specialization and Improved Blades. He's a cut above your average runner.

I recommend everyone do this, even if its only a couple of lines.

Just to assure you that It should be starting pretty much as soon as everyone has their characters ready. Im spending my work hours being productive, and getting missioney things done. Ive almost finished your first run, and have ideas for subsequent ones, depending on how the first one turns out.

Well, I've been thinking up a backstory for my character. So far, I've got he was a Chemistry student in the Bay Area of California before moving up to Seattle to study with the hermetic mage Benedict Arnold. While studying he became an alcoholic (lol party school) before deciding to cultivate his awakened skills, seeking out a mentor.
