Alliance Stuff in Discussion
We're mulling over a few things in alliance mgmt at the moment. Now that we've finished helping U'K we've kinda lost direction a bit in Prov area and are thinking of what we could do for our next project. Here's a few things we're looking at. Let me know your thoughts.
1. Leaving Providence/Catch cos it's getting boring and we've been here forever. Looking at options up north such as Venal or Fade. MC claim a small area of Fade and we could get access and ratting in C4C for example.
2. Getting a couple more corps into the Alliance to bolster our gang numbers and around the clock presence a bit, namely Black Watch Legionaires (Ex-U'K, US based) and Creative Destruction (Ex-ISS, also US based).
3. Starting an alliance BS programme using income from NR (pretty much the same as what we do in the corp, so wouldn't make a huge change for us). We need to bolster our bs numbers in gangs significantly. Contrary to popular belief, most of Hobos are extremely poor as well and struggle to make isk because they're always PvPing.

Wondering if there are plans for a member corp to head up said Alliance BS replacement programme?
I don't know if Lyrus already have bpo's, but I believe it would be a worthy consideration to consider. That, or find a wholesaler of bpc's.
Personally, I'd aim for BPO's, as I'm sure CCP will introduce T2 BS's someday, and with the advent of invention and them seeding more agents to provide datacores for ship invention, could be more viable. (At least for a use basis, might not be comparable for selling).
Also, YAY for US tz peeps! With the advent of owning a home, I might be able to switch from insanely early hours to being up late! Might work better with my wife and kids schedules!

Clarification: this isn't a carebearing break. It would be a move to a new area of operations but with a friendly station to base out in 0.0 that has access to rats nearby, meaning you could make a bit of isk in between ops rather than mission running or mining. Even less excuse not to turn up!
Dres - we already are the de facto battleship providers for the alliance, which is why I suggested it. We run NR, are responsible for alliance logistics and so by extension it makes sense that we organise a bs replacement programme. Ofc y ou can't corp insure the ships, so we'll have to think of a way of managing it (reinsurance payouts for lost ships and/or discount prices for example). Owning the best PvP bs bpo's is a good goal too - they're never not going to be needed (just got to make sure we get the right ones)
Bomber- all that loot Hobo's pick up goes into their corp hangar. If anyone wants something shout at a Hobo and they'll hand it out usually. The only times this doesn't happen is if someone loses an expensive T2 ship on the op (he gets given the loot to compensate) or we get a fat one like the CNR (then it's sold and the isk shared out).

Hmm, here's a thought....
Wasn't C4C pretty rich for ore? (Assuming that's where we were based a few months ago, my memory is dull w/ all the house stuff keeping me hopping!) If it is, do we want to keep NR where they are, or move them to C4C to provide us w/ ore? Possibly less tax/more ore instead of isk. Just a thought.
I'll have to make time to scroll back through the KB and look at BS losses to figure out proposals for BS BPO purchases. I'm going to guess Megathron now, I'll see what the KB says though. (I'm hoping Domi for my playstyle, but the Alliance > Corp > Corp Mates > me)
And we're stricly looking BS, right? No BC's for medium ops/support? Cruisers/Frigs? Just looking for guidance is all, since a small gang is better w/ smaller ships from what I've heard secondhand in the industrial shed. I'm sure I'll be a few more weeks on Advanced Mass Production skills, (a few days left on Mass Production V).
And if we can't build at C4C, would we consider a large to support us? Buildy buildy ftw, but POS work ftl. Kinda a 6 of one, half dozen of the other point, even w/ the pos tweaks coming with the expansion.
Also, producing/selling in 0.0 could give us another income stream as well.
Back to work for me though, ideas posted!

Concentrate on bs's as a goal. Cruiser/frig bpo's are cheap enough that we can get them anyway, and bc's are too specialist a role to worry about building in large quantities.
Check the KB stats for bs losses and then we'll discuss options. Funnily enough, the domi might become much more popular with the new drones - they are going to be able to put out silly amounts of DPS with T2 Sentries for example - and the changes to remote reppers, T2 logistic drones and remote repping gang links will make them extremely potent hospital ships.

Hmmm, /me thinks out loud again....
If our part of the alliance is logistic support, can we get more people involved in mineral acquisition, bpc acquisition, and construction/transport?
Right now I'm doing it without much outside help (Thank you to those that do help, should you desire recognition, please say so!), but when we ramp up to constant BS supplying, it will be a different picture. Some toons w/ market skills in Jita would be handy, as would freighter loads of mins to whatever buildy location we end up at, (dependant on where we go ofc!)
It's just not something we tackle as a corp atm, which might be limiting us from reaching our full potential.
How do we do this as a corp you might ask? (besides mining our lasers off!)
Well, if we could have alts strategically placed throughout the known universe at strategic locations to take advantage of good to awesome mineral prices, (or perhaps simply market differences), place some buy orders or buy some sell orders out, and have a handy/dandy freighter pilot head out to move it, it wouldn't take long at all, and be wildly more effective than a few people attempting the same.
So, if I could ask you to use any spare slots to cook up a market toon and send them to a shoppy type system, I'd really really appreciate it! Of course, I'll be building you ships with what we buy, so you'll get something back for your efforts! (That or I'll be building a ship that will help keep you alive at some future low/0.0 sec mining op when we scan down some uber roids that our mining types will drool over). Hell, we might even be building an ore capital someday, who knows how far we can go when we work together!
Market alts ftw!!!
After mucking through the losses on the KB, the megathron is the most deaded BS in the alliance. It is also high on the 'ships used in combat' list. Making it a likely one to be of use to the alliance. Since the KB's inception though, we've only lost 7 according to my survey, so maye a bpo is a way's off, but definitely some multi-run bpc's, which I propose for the top 5 BS's lost, so we can build a reserve stock. The rest would be dependant 'build as needed' resupply, (according to my proposal)
