Morrowind

Post by Lateralus »

Now, I know that Morrowind isn't a multiplayer game, however, it is fucking excellent. Anyone else here played it? I absolutely love it, and can lose days at a time to it. The number of mods out there for it is incredible, since it comes with the Construction Set used by the developers to make it in the first place, and Bethesda actively support the modification of it. However, even when played as released it is still brilliant. There are two expansions available, Tribunal and Bloodmoon, and they extend it quite a way.

The next game in the Elder Scrolls series, Oblivion is due out later this year and it looks to be every bit as good as expected. The trailer for it has recently been released, and its making me 5punk myself in anticipation!

I was thinking that although there are hordes of sites out there for mods, and general banter about the game, that it would be cool if some of you lot were interested too.

love morrowind, i had the xbox version for a while and spent days just making levitation rings, then stealing all the pillows i could find and making a 50ft high tower of pillows
don't think a forum on the 5punk would get used for much though

edit- just saw the screenshots to oblivion... had to have a double take to see if it was real or graphics

Absolutely 5punkulic game. Bought it about 2 years ago for the Xbox (Game Of The Year ed., with the 2 expansions), got hooked, and then soon bought the PC edition for the Construction Set. I borrowed it to a few friends recently, then finally surrendered it from my PC to free up some Disk space. I agree that a forum for it wouldn't get used much, though.

P.S. As for Oblivion, since it's launch I have seperated of a small area of my home village and erected a Temple in worship.

Wow.

Just watched the 86MB trailer for oblivion, and I think my 5punking nearly turned into the Gush (as per Chris Morris). It looks soooo pretty!

If my somewhat sluggish machine can cope with the game, then I may disappear for a matter of weeks after its released.

Wow.

it says its for "next gen" pc's. in other words unless yours is an alienware or equipped with dual cores i doubt anyones going to afford a machine to run this any time soon :(

aye it wasnt half bad i had it on xbox. i spent most the time just wondering around, but then i got into the drug trade and just butchered every character i came across. a few small villages were left without a single living creature. good fun. never realy got the whole magic making part of the game though, all a bit crazy

it'll take hours just training up to be able to kill an armed villager lol, but once you get addicted theres no coming off the game.

the best way to play the game at the begining is steal just about anything that isnt tied down, and use the money to train up to be a bad mofo. also when carrying prescious goods dont be a cheap ass pay for the travel, only too often i got killed and or given some virus that made me too weak to carry everything

this is true, i dont think you can actually complete that game without robbing places blind. its really funny when you steal the key for the treasury and wait till the guards arent looking, then run in steal all teh stuff you can carry and sell to that little goblin thing in caldera

Morrowind the elder scrolls III
for preference get "game of the year edition" which has the 2 expansions with it (you get to be a warewolf or a vampire later in the game and it makes the game hours and hours longer)
but if not, yes the normal edition is worth £7
