I ran the 1.1 patch, but the game shows me running 1.0 still. I didn't have time to try joining yet.

Yeah, worked flawlessly for me. All the 1.1 version fixes IIRC is cheat haxxors, and well..we might want to cheat.

Well I had every intention of joining y'all last night, but I started playing it, and before I knew it it was 23:50 and I had to go to bed due to work commitments today. It's a corking game though, really a lot of fun. I've been joining random patrols and also trading Polymers for 300 isk credits of profit a time. The mission selections really suffer from MMONG boredom syndrome though (MMONGBS). But yeah, like it lots and will join soon, once my ship's a hard bastard that is...

Ermmm, when you join the server you need to create a new character. So you will start from scratch again (don't worry, we'll escort you to Bretonia for a new ship).

1. Turns out I didn't leave this at my parents' house.

2. Turns out I did lend it to a mate in 2003 and haven't seen it since.

3. But I downloaded a replacement backup last night (took 6 hours).

4. I didn't know the multiplayer played like the single player with consistent character progression. Sounds really good.

5. ...

6. Profit!

This, but like you, my broom saved the day. :)

edit: thinking back, I might have actually lent mine to a mate in early 2004.

Deej, you weren't trying when there were mods on last night were you?

Today I found some wrecks in Texas, got some nice loot from them, then died trying to get it back

What sort of mods are available? I seem to remember playing this game for a while when it first came it out, but then completing the storyline and suddenly running out of things to do, mainly because the missions are all exactly the same.

Edit: Yay for finding the original disk in my stash :boogie:

The mods generally seem to just add new ships and locations. Some do a few other things, like up the difficulty. One adds new missions, and one actually adds a monkey faction and a robot faction.

Unfortunately I can see your point about the missions getting repetitive, and I'm not expecting anyone to be playing this when I get back in two weeks. It's a pity because it's kind of like Eve Light designed for a few players, but there's just not enough to do to keep people interested. Could maybe survive if we jumped on a random server with other people, but I reckon we'd get kicked before long.

There's bound to be a Babylon 5 mod or something like that. There's some Babylon 5 tards that have made a mod for every single space game ever. And they made a totally free game too.
