Update on Current Events

Post by friznit »

Sorry if I've not been that attentive to what the corp's been doing, but since Fea's left I've been trying to split my time between corp and Alliance stuff and narf it's not working very well for me. Anyway, there's been quite alot of planning going on in the background for where we're going with BUM. Let me outline a few points for clarity. Please be aware that some of this is of a sensitive nature so don't spout off about it.

1. Alliance goal: kill IAC. We figured the fastest way to exact our revenge is to bring Eve War I to us. We needed to convince Sylph & CVA to work together and then piss them off enough to have a go against Unity. This would drag a whole host of others in, including of course IAC and AAA...which is the critical mass we need to bring some friends racing down here to clean up. Last night's offensive against CVA's cap ship yard we hope is the catalyst for that.

2. Mining areas: we've been working hard on getting a secure high end mining area for us to play in and make a few bill. Events overtook us on the first two options, but we have a fallback plan which I have asked Steamy to hurry along a bit. Should see some action on this today.

3. Ninja mining: lots of talk about securing a system, ninjaring in and mining/ratting for a week. Sounds like fun but I'm not sure whether we'll herd enough cats to action it. Something I'm talking about with Steamy, Lyrus and Algey. I want to at least give it a test run.

4. POS warfare: nobody likes POS warfare. We made it an alliance policy that we'd never get involved in POS wars unless...and here's the irony...it was U'K. However, in between the fun bits of POS's coming out of reinforced there's no reason to sit POS bound defending the system. So from now on we're going to base out of Assah to avoid getting dragged into the bits we don't like and carry on the roaming gangs which are fun. We'll be able to hop back in to our bs's during the fun stuff.

5. Really Big Ships. Hobo's are working on getting a Really Big Ship. I think we should help them, since it'll be good for us all. We also need to help Wiggy build his freighter.

What does this mean for you?

Well, first off I'm not going to tell you where to be and what to do. It's up to you guys to play how you want. If you need direction or feel at a loose end, shout and I'll talk you through it.

Secondly, please have patience. With various wars going on our plans have been moving pretty slowly which is annoying, but we're getting there.

Finally, if anyone wants to help action any of the above, please let me know. It's quite alot for one person to do alone, and narf I don't want Eve to turn back into the work it became when we were in ISS.

Why is a hidden forum appearing on the front page? Can we prevent that?

Another update:

POS warfare gets really boring, so as an alliance we've decided to move out of 9UY and base out of Nakah or Assah. This will enable us to carry out our roaming gangs but still go help U'K when something fun happens. Let me know if you need help moving stuff out.

Steamy is close to finalising a deal to get us a very very nice mining area. It'd be very similar to the JK- setup, POS, refining station etc, although it's not Ark...still, can't have it all. More on this hopefully by the weekend.

We've finally got through to Hobo's on the Spider Rep concept, and we're going to have a trial on Wednesday and Thursday nights on SiSi to prove the concept to them. A big 5punky turn out would be appreciated.

So, things are looking up. If we can get our industry back on track, which will give 5punkorp back our raison d'etre, then things will be cool!

I have several ships in 9uy that I'll need to move out. I can handle most of them myself, but would appreciate a lift with the BC if poss

I'll try and make it on Thursday for the Spider rep thingy. do we have a sisi office in BWF / nearby that I can pod myself to? I think I'm probably in C3 on sisi....
