Thanks for the support everyone, even though it wasn't entirely democratic as I had hoped, the messages of encouragement during the run up to this announcement have certainly given me confidence in my choice to put myself forward.
Most of you know my views from my posts here, and you can rest assured I don't plan to make any radical changes which will detract from the central theme of 5punk, which WEY has run with since the start - a bunch of good mates having a great big kickabout in a big virtual park.
My main aims are to encourage everyone here to feel they can contribute in some way, maintain a friendly atmosphere, find ways of expanding our user base in ways that will enhance the community - but you'll all see any ideas coming up for discussion before any big changes are made, while it might not be a democracy - as that's far too organised for us - you know I wouldn't do anything that would upset people.
Anyway, I've gone on long enough - don't want to wear you lot out, as there'll be plenty more to come, so I'll say thanks to you all, and especially WEY for starting this and if you have any spare cash then see above on how you can thank him too.
I think I speak for the other admins as well when I say that we did want a democratic vote but under the circumstances it didn't seem to be appropriate. Given the apparently universal positive response it looks like we made the right decision. All Hail!
