I think I might buy this and COD 2 once they come out.

Are the maps huge, as otherwise I cannot see how a Jet Fighter is going to work?

They have jets in the desert combat mod and in vietnam, I guess the maps are quite large although it still seems the jets are a bit too fast to be useful.

this might be cos Im crap

Lolé!

I'm looking foreward to this. btw Wey, i'm sure the bloke in the interviews said that the maps are 4 times bigger then BF1942. Don't quote me on it, but i'm positive that they're much bigger.

I was reading something yesterday about how the maps shrink and expand to fit the number of players on them. Which is quite a good idea. In theory at least.

*Edit* As far as specs go, I cant remember off the top of my head, but I would expect it to be fairly high. I need to upgrade as well probably.

Hmmmm, what shall I buy to tide me over until COD 2?
Day Of Defeat Source, or Battlefield 2?

I'm just wondering how many people are going to get this? I definately am...it will (hopefully) fill a gaping void in my gaming life. Been playing WoW recently but there is only so much killing, skinning, cooking and fishing a Night Elf can do...BF2 really does look excellent especially with the added team options. Should be good trying to keep a team together...at least it is adding something new to FPS...plus I can't wait to get somebody with the defibrilator...mainly all the people in the past who have inserted a Panzerfaust up my rectum

I've looked at CoD2 too and too be honest it looks pretty disappointing...they just seem to have taken everything out of CoD:UO (tanks, satchels, smoke, MGs) and improved the graphics slightly.

its ww2, they cant exactly have aliens in it. although i did buy a pretty cool game for my ps2 a few year back, the setting was modern day, but ww2 was still fully raging. so basicaly good old nazi shooting, but with weaponry which was based on ww2 but upgraded past their pressent form (obviously). i never got very far with the game, but i must admit it was a good idea

and yes, i am DEFINATELY buying this

Well once it's released, I shall ditch Battlefield Vietnam & 1942 from the 5punk list, and change this to a Battlefield 2 forum!

Yay for BF2, I can't wait to take my "get in a plane and crash it into an enemy plane" style of gameplay from BFV into BF2
