The reason I ask is simple. I chased a UCE guy into his POS last night, and while camping him in, I found a pair of GSC's labled 'Hunting Loot' numbers 2 and 3. I figured if he wasn't gonna come play i'd steal his shit. So I went to get my recon, strapped on a codebreaker and headed out.
I got back to find him still hole'd up in his POS so I started to hack the cans. Well, I wanted to at least. The error I recieved when I activated the module went as follows:
You can only activate modules on secure containers that have the following skill requirements: Anchoring.
...Ok, so wtf does that mean? I thought the whole reason of having a codebreaker was to be able to crack pw's on ppl's cans and stuff. Anyhow, in my disgust I put in a petition, but not after asking on every channel I have access to if I was doing somthing wrong.
So, anyone have any insight they could share? I mean, I even have anchoring but I don't think thats the issue here.

You can't hack other players' cans. If you want to play with hacking, head to Tvink and go to the second or third stage of the contested deadspace there. Take something with a very big tank and hack away at the npc cans...you get stuff that helps invention and some if it sells (albeit slowly). Alternatively, do some exploration in 0.0 and get a radar site and you could get the interfacing bpc's which you need for starting off the invention thing.
