Zerging, flooding and other stupid behaviour

News for 30 Mar 2007
  • -It has been brought to my attention that there are a number of people flooding the population with effectively throwaway accounts that are used for zerging or spotting targets in a manner that could be considered cheating.
-Seriously folks, if you're that bored then maybe you need to find something else to play as well, but don't go spoiling Shartak for the rest of us.
-For those who want a heavy sword, I'll sell one for 4000 gold coins to the first person who asks (and has 4000 gold at the time of asking). Contact me using the feedback link, or via IM/email/etc.

I assume by "messing about", he meant zerging. I'm sure that's not most of 5punk.

Reckon that's aimed at us? We're not actually zerging, there's just a lot of us responded after CP pissed us off. Funny how it appears after CP complain about us though.

I suspect it's aimed partly at us, and partly at a lot of the low level CP members that have appeared from nowhere.

I can't see it being a dig at 5punk, I don't think you have all that many characters sitting around as lookouts.

CP do seem to be astroturfing their clan with alts.

I did mention to Simon last time we spoke that you don't really break the rules with gameplay. Just that you've... annoyed a few people with killing/haunting :)

This, about 5 new accounts all created in March and all joined the CP. I also find it highly suspicious that they're always able to find me and kill despite being on full health (being a pirate I have to contact the roaming shaman - who's fucking miles away at the moment. I always stay quite a few spaces outside of York to regain my AP, yet they still find me).

Someone killed him because he was too close to York - meant people were respawning too close to York, so someone thought they'd be safer if he was further away.

If you kill him, he might respawn closer to York. But he could respawn pretty much anywhere, so it could well backfire.

Thanks for the confirmation. It's perhaps a little vain to assume that we'd provoke action like that, but it was quite coincidental. I don't think any of us would want the game admins to think we were trying to harm the game.
